Do you know the in many Black communities - that we can't even afford to be there.

So, unless Kamala is giving away homes for free and paying property taxes -- this aint gonna work.

In one of the neighborhoods my parents own a few homes in - This one white man has come in and bought 8 land plots of torn down homes. He is now building 60K homes. Now, our rent averages $500-650 for a 3-4 bedroom HOMES with a garage - Section 8 - some not. Black people are not going to be able to purchase these homes he is building.

Historical redlining neighborhood.

i think you confused my point which was acts and laws don't specifically need to say "for black people" in order to benefit or negatively impact black people.

but to your example, she is proposing up to 25k for down payment for homes in those areas. we all know how home buying works by now, the more money put down, the less money you pay monthly. but damn bro, i don't know one black person that can't afford $650 for rent and if they can't its more of a personal problem than anybody else's fault lol

I know -- but it's bad in many areas. Michigan is one. Jobs are GONE.

We have tenants on Housing Assistance - that only have to pay $168 of their rent - and the state pays the rest. Guess what... late every month. It's bad.

The only reason any Blacks have anything is due to our parents and grandparents passing on property. I'm from a GM family. Most of my Aunts and Uncles are retired from there as well. GM is gone. Now, the plant pays $15 a hour when my daddy worked as a Master Electrian and retired from GM he was making $40+ per hour - this was way back.

Historical redlining neighborhoods in Michigan. That was all once Black owned and beautiful.
on the east coast you can't find anything that will go for 650 a month. :mjlol:

This will get taken over by gentrifiers and corporations. Mark my words. You will see white folks buying homes in black areas

doesn't seem like that could happen under the proposal

  • The grantee must be purchasing a principal residence.
  • The grantee must have lived for at least the preceding 10 years in a historically red-lined community that remains low-to-moderate income.
  • Grantee families cannot have an annual income of over $100,000 or $125,000 in high-cost areas.
  • Grantee individuals cannot make over $50,000 or $75,000 in high-cost areas.

can we not mislead each other and make the typical conclusions for once. these points sound like it's specifically for the neighborhood people lol. a corporation wouldn't even qualify

This is cool -- but white folks will sit for 10 years - hence the white man I mentioned -- been there now three years -- he is the only white person in the neighborhood now.

He waiting. Hell let his kids get on.

But, anyway -- they will find ways to get in on this.

I'm not the biggest Kamala fan either, but my Black conscience brothers and sistas are going to shyt on her regardless of what she does.

Folks want the great Black savior that they feel they can smoke a blunt with in the backyard while listening to Maze, that gives the finger to White folks, and throws up Black power signs.

Black people do not make up enough of the electorate block to specifically have someone to pander only to us. Now even when a candidate purposes policy that might help Blacks it seems insincere and pointless to other more woke Blacks.

Congress also also exists, and it generally consists of old grumpy White men that pop Viagra and are out of touch with anything that doesn't happen at the country club not mention working class America.

again, doesn't seem as though he will qualify.

the way you describe the white man he just wouldn't qualify: 1) you have to assume he's living in federally-supported housing (another qualification) which i doubt since you say he has purchased 8 plots for resale or rental income 2) he hasn't lived there 10 year 3) he wouldn't be buying a "principal residence" if he already lives in another house there.

too many hoops to jump through but i guess i could be done theoretically if one wants to keep themselves capped on a super low income and in a poor neighborhood. this proposal qualifications are super specific, it's seems meant specifically for low earning long time neighborhood people.

if white people do "get in on this" it's gonna have to poor ones and it's gonna have to be in neighborhoods they already been in. im not sure why that would be a concern

at this point i think i get your point though... this is not your candidate so whatever she puts forth is an issue lol
