No, the point is that it has no chance of passing with the current Supreme Court. They struck down affirmative action because there can be no race-based policies. Using that precedent, a federal circuit court struck down a business loan program for black women-owned businesses because it was tied to race. The same group that sued to get affirmative action overturned is now using that precedent to go after any other race-based program. So please tell me how a race-based reparations law would stand up to this Supreme Court? The bill is dead on arrival because the courts will rule it unconstitutional based on recent precedent.

Is that the precedent going forward for anything involving race? What about laws in place about discrimination cause of race? Could that possibly be ended in the future or is it different for laws?

Which is pretty much exactly how the Student Loan forgiveness program went. I think people cling to reparations emotionally because it’s the perfect religious argument on par with the return of Jesus. Its a righteous cause but its never going to happen but you can sell hope and promise of some eternal future utopia.

The real hard work is education, hard work, and getting our communities right through sweat equity. The hand outs are over.
