But Reagan and his cronies did such a good job of painting black women as the face of welfare that it became a "gubment hand-out program" for "jezebels and welfare queens buying lobster and steak off food stamps and pushing out illegitimate kids".

No ma'am I did not say that. As it pertains to this program, I feel if two people were contributing financially to the household, their combined incomes wouldn't be near poverty level, making them ineligible.

The people just slightly above the poverty line are the group that really needs the help but is constantly overlooked when it comes to assisting the working class.

A married couple making a combined 70k gross with kids is struggling and need help, but all they get are taxes.
