No legalization from Harris?

Notably, however, more broadly decriminalizing or legalizing cannabis is not explicitly mentioned in this year’s platform. Kevin Sabet, president of the prohibitionist group Smart Approaches to Marijuana (SAM), cheered that exclusion on Monday, commending those who “helped so much behind the scenes.”
IIRC tonight is policy night

In this current climate with a literal war protesters outside the building why would there be a Jewish prayer ?

It sullied the evening
Especially when the conflict in Gaza was a reason why people are considering voting for Trump and made Biden Step down. Biden just announced that he’s working on a ceasefire plan something like that could throw it off. The USA is Israel’s biggest defender. The spot where the president goes to rest is literally called Camp David.

The other side is always going to believe that the USA isn’t it trying to negotiate peace in good faith and it doesn’t help that after that speech the Jewish prayer started. It’s bad optics
There is absolutely nothing wrong with including a Jewish prayer in the convention, respect for all religions is a key tenet of a healthy democratic society. The conflation of Jewishness and Israel is a Zionist goal and no one should be falling for it. The problem with Israel is that they're a settler-colonial state committing genocide, ethnic cleansing and war crimes, not that there are a lot of Jews living there. Jews are actually disproportionately represented in the Pro-Palestinian protests and Jewish prayers have been a common occurrence in the protests. It's not bad optics, it's inclusive. The actual bad optics are the fact that the only 2 speakers mentioned the word Palestine, one being the President who has actively facilitated their genocide.

This is a bad speech. Highlights why he needed to drop out no matter what. or at least from a strategic standpoint, this is why the messaging wasn't working.

too self involved. meandering. references too far in the past.

no hate or any weirdo shyt, but this just wasn't going to work. Imagine if he was still the nominee. I think about that all the time.

it's just a highlights reel of ( highly ) debatable accomplishments. A lot of self aggrandizing. There's no vision for the country. There's no excitement.
What’s debatable about his accomplishments?

Did Ryan Grim report on all the speakers calling for a ceasefire or is he only focused on the bad optics for clicks?
I watched most of the DNC, not the entire thing, but I only heard three speakers even reference the word "ceasefire". AOC, Warnock and Biden. Were there others?
