This is actually the only way to play it as it makes Trump look like a coward.

This is a no win situation for him, chances of him doing better are slim, and Kamala is beginning to find her stride and interact well in interviews etc. His chance to get at her was the first debate.

Despite media normalisation Trump would still need a knockout blow to win the debate. Is there a risk Kamala may bomb? Yes, but this is what a presidential campaign is about. You gotta take your chances. Kamala has the wind in her sails not but a lot can change in 5 weeks.

Take every opportunity to get you message across.

If Trump continues to decline the invitation, ask CNN make it a town hall.
