She’s cooking.

From a political strategy standpoint I don’t get it at all. It doesn’t seem like its worth it at all to pander to a group of fringe in your party who only a very small percentage of even vote for you when the blowback and negative attention probably hurts you more then a few at most extra votes helps you.

On a bigger scale take the tranny issue for instance.

I’m not saying Dems should take away any policies protection trans people but I don’t get making that issue the face of your party.

Do you think the tranny issue has won the Dems any elections? I seriously doubt it

Id guess making the issue the forefront of the party has done them more harm then good or the very least it hasn’t overly helped them win any elections

The percentage of people who are trannies isn’t large enough to make it one of the cornerstones of your parties battles and I doubt very many people who aren’t trannies are voting based on laws protecting trannies

I’m no political strategist but you’d think you would make the economy and healthcare more of a talking point then trannies but in politics always follow the money so I’m guessing it’s not a morality issue as much as tranny lobbyists giving them money

what i'm seeing more than anything is that some people are letting perfect be the enemy of good.... instead of taking a good set of policy accomplishments, they are demanding a perfect set of policy accomplishments.... since no human has ever been perfect and no group of humans have ever been perfect, people need to learn to accept progress... now of course there can be no compromise on some issues, but demanding perfection will never result in the desired goal as no one is perfect....

Which political party has made Transgenders a core issue of the party? It’s the Republican Party. :heh:

That bozo in Florida made fighting the “Woke” a cornerstone of his campaign and even the Republicans sent him home packing before the second primary. :mjlol:

You are right that majority of voters don’t care one way or the other about the transgender issue because most people will go through their entire lives without ever interacting with a trans person. The most well known progressives (Bernie, AOC, Liz Warren etc) don’t make woke ideology a core part of their focus. They spend the vast amount of their time pushing policies that help people in real life like Medicare for all, living wage, income inequality, climate change etc. republicans are the ones who make fighting silly cultural issues a core part of their party.

Here is the thing, what Transfolk really want, is they technically already have for the most part. There is no law banning trans from getting married, getting their name changed, or identified in state documents as their preferred gender.

Now Republicans in Red States are passing "Protect the Children Laws" laws which is more about Banning Pornography, Banning Condoms/Contraceptives, Banning Abortion, Banning IVF; Basically No Sinning; this encompasses alot of Homosexual and Transfolk.

But that's the thing, a ton of stuffs Transfolk want, are also what everyone wants.

So it's hard to promote Transrights as a core political message, when in a sense, alot of the stuff they want is what everyone wants. They are a marginal group that wants to be heard, yes, but a ton of their issues they need can be solved by overturning Republican laws and fixing Healthcare.

Republicans were stupid for blaming Biden for the date this was happening way before him it’s just the first time it fell on Easter but why tweet it?

Read the room man. There are plenty of religious democrats who think this is over the top

The laws you have in to protect them are enough. There is no reason to take pandering to this level you already have their vote you’re just gonna piss some of your voters or undecideds off
