Why hasn't a shooting guard ever been drafted 1st overall in the NBA?

Iverson was not the consensus #1 pick that year. Camby was the player of the year and 6-11. I remember people saying he was scared to come out in 97 because of Duncan and Camby said it didn't matter because he would go #1 in either draft. I remember it like it was yesterday. 1996 offseason was the most memorable until 2010. Shaq went to the Lakers and Jordan signed for $30 mil. There were rumors that he might go to the Knicks (probably started by Knick fans).

:russ: Shaq and jordan have nothing to do with this. Damn u backpedalin now. Anyone with google can look this up. And jordan was not going to the knicks please stop. Please now your making yourself look foolish. WHy even mention Jordan to the Knicks, it has no bearing on the argument and only makes you look like you were sucking on your moms tit in 96. You're asking for a source from 16 years ago, before the internet was even popping like that?

Point is, Iverson was NOT the consensus #1 pick.

This is the dumbest shyt ever. EVERYONE knows AI was a PG. You've even admitted AI was a PG. And you're still arguing that he wasn't? :what:

You're a clown, guy and I'm not wasting another second on you.

Its gotta be written somewhere if its true, so its prolly going to be on the internet but you make it up so it is really nowhere to be found.

:cape: away you bytch

Source for this and again how old are you???

What does his even mean, its not even coherent?

Who was scared? Iverson? Camby? Who?

Iverson left and was drafted #1, not camby so this doesnt really make any sense (Just cause camby said it, hahahhahaha) and Duncan came out the year after. Iverson left early cause he was going to be the number one pick and make $$$$$. So what he was player of the year in college, he was an integral part of the 31-1 95-96 umass team in college, but he wasnt the best nba prospect coming out.

Philly never even entertained the thought of drafting anyone other than iverson, or show proof otherwise.

Historically, the shooter guard has never had any relevance on the court besides hitting open shots until recent times.

They had him "play" PG cause stack was already at the SG position and the sixers wanted to have them both on the court at the same time, who wouldnt? shyt didnt work out though

They didnt trade stack cause they wanted to try and make it work with Stack. He put up 19 ppg in his rookie year why the fukk would they trade him, now thats fukking ridiculous. then they tried with larry hughes and same result.

Don't these 2 quotes indicate AI was playing the point?

Now, couple that with the FACT that he was a PG, and one can easily come to the obvious conclusion that he was a PG.

Just cause iverson was on the floor at the same time as stackouse doesnt make him the pg. That was the system they ran, the nba and coaching is not set up on some nba live lineup shyt. And again i tell u that stack was traded midway thru next season cause they play the same position and they cant co-exist.

Why u scared to say your age son? Tell us again how Jordan rumors to the knicks were out there, u may have remembered these memories from your childhood cause u were fukkin delusional and how iverson was not the consenus #1 pick of the 96 draft and philly wouldve drafted camby and somebody was scared of something that didnt make any god damn sense. Yea explain.

Ive already addressed this point. Iverson was a 6' scoring guard. Nothing the NBA had seen at that point. A midget by NBA standards that could score at will like a SG but SG were not that short at the time. Iverson was a game evolution at the time. The sixers were not sure how to use him coming out and tried to have him play the point due in part cause he was easily the best player coming out that year and philly was not passin on him. Obviously it didnt work with the departures of stackhouse and hughes and needing to bring in Snow.

Some of ya'll have some rigid ass thinking. It says he is a pg so he must be a pg.....NO
