Justin Bieber took a lot of Chris Brown's non-black/cac fans, the year following the Rihanna incident. He was nearly blackballed and was temporarily relegated to chitlin circuit aka urban circuit.

Without Breezy sabotaging his own career by doing stupid moves, Bieber would never have been the superstar he is right now. Breezy would have been in the lane Bieber actually occupies, and Bieber would have faded away, remaining Jonas Brothers/Jesse McCartney/Austin Mahone/other dime a dozen cac pre-teen pop singers status.

Bieber really swaggerjacked Breezy. He copied his tats, his swag, his singing etc. Bieber = breezy lite.

Breezy was already Usher status in 2008 popularitywise. He was well on his way to be to HUGE RNB/pop crossover BUT he killed the spark he had started by pulling birdbrain moves like beating one of the biggest pop idols and openly claiming street gang ties.

I think Chris is content with his career now, but a part of him stay wondering about that fateful night when he hit Rihanna.

:childplease: we must not be talking about the same Chris because the Chris I'm talking about kills every MJ routine he's ever done.

We're definitely not talking about the same Chris Brown then, because the CB I'm talking about looks a bit sloppy (maybe due to height) to be the sharp, precise moves of the GOAT.

He does flips tho :yeshrug:

Most people recognize that Chris Brown has all the tools to truly step out ahead all these other R&B dudes. He just fukked up too much. He was supposed to be in that MJ, Usher, all around entertainer mold, but he beat ole girl ass and that derailed all that shyt. He's an a$$hole for that. But people just wanted him to be the next mega-star because he was likeable before the Rihanna shyt.

What does any of that have to do with him being overhyped? :gucci:

That ship has long sailed. I don't like how people try to forget how successful Usher was just to hype up Chris Brown. The year after Confessions some people were already trying to replace Usher.

He's talented, but he's wasted it.
:manny:

He's drugged out and tries too hard to be a gangsta. Also, he doesn't really have any true legendary hits. R Kelly, Ginuwine, Avant, Omarion, even J Holiday got classics. You play some of those artist's songs, and you automatically getting them panties. Chris Brown's music just doesn't do that.

Let’s keep it 100.

Chris could’ve easily been as big as MJ. Not saying he can sing, dance or write better music than the king.

But this guy had it all; he was in movies, he had the lucrative fan base of both the girls and family and he could dance.

He was on the right path until his name became a verb for beating on women. He really really fukked up. Especially being black, they were never gonna let him live it down.

White rock stars have beaten women and have had sex with underage girls but the media will sweep that under the carpet. Now he has that night following him everywhere he goes.

He could’ve redeemed himself but going down the thug/gangbanging route lost him a lot of fans. Now mainly bird brains/hood rats are his fan base.

Michael Jackson and Usher were able to appeal to all spectrums of the market. Chris Brown completely isolated himself trying to act hard. The people around him should’ve been tougher on him but now his ship has sailed.

And I have no idea why people are putting nsync and backstreet boys in the same category when Chris brown arrived on the scene years after their peak.

What makes Chris Brown so different from Bobby Brown, Usher, Ginuwine, Tevin Cambell etc? Why is he hyped up when he was never as sucessful as some of the people I've mentioned? That's the definition of HYPE.

Thought R&B stands for Rhythm and Blues?? One of the things I think about with rhythm is dancing??? Some of the best R&B songs have dancing???

The music is supposed to have Rhythm. Key word MUSIC. :comeon:

Stop talking about his dance skills when we are talking about the artistry.
