He cut the corporate tax rate from 35 to 21 and it was permanent. All the individual stuff was set to gradually increase every year and phase out in 2025.
im aware of that :yeshrug:

however, with dems currently running a 2 trillion dollar deficit without breaking a sweat, i'm curious where their outrage about the debt will appear from next year. i'm supposed to watch that fukking twat pelosi complain about trump tax cuts with a straight face? i dont think so

The complaints weren’t about the deficit they were rightfully complaining that it was unnecessary tax cut for the rich

But things did change under Obama, especially for healthcare
no, no they didn't. Again, you have your head in the sand and don't like facts so I am not going further on this.

The ACA was a great overhaul, but it still cost a grip to get on and keep. I was unemployed after the ACA, and it was stupidly expensive to get on it. The removal of the individual mandate made it easier to access for most.

When health insurance is tied to employment, how does that work? The company gets a wholesale discount from a Health insurance company, and includes that as part of the salary/benefits? Private sector representatives negotiate with healthcare companies for lower rates? What is the advantage to both parties?

I had this a long time ago, when I was like 22, but I never understood how it functionally worked.
That's exactly how it works.

The Insurance company benefits because they get a bunch of new paying customers in one swoop who can't just switch to a new insurance whenever they feel like it since it's tied to their job. the company that employs you benefits because the insurance discount they offer you is cheaper than paying you a higher wage.

This means nothing if you guys are not going to actually organize anything of political and revolutionary substance. All you are doing is idolizing him until the next meme-able viral moment happens. None of this is translating into institutional change.

I'm sorry, but this is too cynical. The response itself is what inspires people in the first place. You can't have a revolution without inspiring the people with displays like this. You're right when you say this isn't enough but it doesn't mean *nothing*

30/69
@beastmodequan
As someone who dips their toes in organizing and has many friends fully dedicated to the shyt: organizing types need to realize if they aren't doing stuff that feels like real action that causes rapid change you are going to lose a lot of people, especially in this era of fried attention spans. Cause real chaos that will be celebrated by the masses: target CEOs. Don't even need to kill them, just post up at their homes, follow them, leak their info and location constantly. Make their lives hell.

Hero propaganda is arguably more important than an actual hero. Championing what he did is a part of normalizing what he did.

39/69

and it never will translate

The people cheering on this murderer aren’t interested in change, they’ve always simply wanted to be violent without consequence.

I mean I personally think the normalisation of what he did and seeing people celebrate at a party is a massive start.

🇵🇸🇱🇧O good people,

💥Unfortunately, my family and I live in fear due to the bombing, hunger due to the lack of food and its high price, extreme cold due to taking shelter in a plastic tent that does not resist the wind and rain, and diseases due to the limited availability of treatment and its high cost. We ask ourselves how long will we remain like this? We hope that this suffering will end because our bodies can no longer bear it.

💥My message to everyone... I share my suffering with you. All my regards, love and respect. You are the hope after God, and my hope in you is still great. We have overcome a lot today. I want a challenge to get 30 new donors to reach 400 people. I am addressing you for the sake of myself and my family to get out of this genocide.

We just had the the tax system overhauled to favor the wealthy without proper support or votes. :wtf:

I don't know if Americans are or are not interested in a government-run healthcare system because it's never been put in front of us. Even when FDR and Truman pushed for it during their presidencies, it never made it out of committee because of lobbying efforts.

You also can’t underestimate the role that race played in the issue along with red scare and overall pushback against government spending. Dixiecrats killed the government run healthcare talks because it would have required desegregation of the healthcare system.

Let’s not kid ourselves, as great as Medicare 4 all would be, it would still be a Herculean effort pass it. The odds are that it would be more likely to fail than to pass. Half the country would be against it off top because Democrats are proposing it. All it would take is fear mongering about “communist takeovers”, “muh freedom”, handouts to undeserving people :mjpls: to kill it. shyt, the thought of migrants getting access to Medicare for all would make it DOA for more than half the country.

Passing Medicare for all would not be a cake walk. And it’s not so much about fighting special interests and scumbag politicians, it’s convincing the average voter not to go against their own self interests.

The average American is dumb and easily swayed by passions to assume rational thinking when it comes to policy.
