I don't think it's fair to characterize that as talking points from politicians, the polling I've seen suggests that sentiment is actually shared by the general public.

Nobody likes this system but those that benefit from it. One of my former coworkers had a back issue and after about a year the job basically told him he was out and forced a separation. People may like having health insurance in general but when they run up against stuff like that and lose their job and insurance see if they still like it.

Of course. Also Most people like their congress person but hate how congress works.

They like their health insurance because they don’t have any other choice Since it’s tied to their jobs. And their jobs aren’t going around searching for the best health insurance to offer their staff, but instead the ones that don’t cost them the most.
