I respect Tim Walz but his and other democrats take on the murder of that CEO is part of why people think democrats are out of touch.

“I knew Brian. Tragic,” Walz said at a news conference about the state budget today. He said he hopes the person responsible is brought to justice.

“Just our deepest condolences to the family. Horrible tragedy,” Walz said.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., also expressed shock.

“This is a horrifying and shocking act of violence. My thoughts are with Brian Thompson’s family and loved ones and all those working at United Healthcare in Minnesota,” Klobuchar wrote on X this morning.

People are smoking on that CEO pack and he's expressing condolences? There's no public pressure on him or anyone else in the party to speak on this.

If there IS, then what people want them to do is say something along the lines of
"It's regrettable that a man was killed, but I can't pretend that the business he was a part of is not built upon denying Healthcare to millions of Americans. The reaction to his death is something that we should take the time to understand and learn from"

Flip that shyt into your own political benefit ngga what are you doing?! Don't express solidarity with someone whose decisions are literally killing people who would have voted for you! :mindblown: :why:

In all reality, what did you expect? Furthermore, politicians are the reason why this system is absolutely wrecked as it is. They have totally failed in us not being taken advantage of by these predatory practices.

Yes and we all saw what a 1 billion dollar campaign war chest accomplished in this last presidential election. We saw what "not trying to offend people" accomplished in 2016 and this election right? Obviously democrats should continue to do the same shyt since it's worked so amazingly for them.

Show me where in my post or any of my posts in this thread where I am asking for him to condone murder.

Show me an example of what I wanted him to say that would involve being happy that the man was killed.

You are objectively wrong how most people, particularly white people interpret the wealthy.

Democrats would only be painting themselves deeper in the evil socialist box if they condoned the assassin.

I don't even agree that he deserved the sympathy but I understand why politically minded peoples approach.

Hell the democrats are the ones trying to reign these people in but the country wants none of it.

Aside from the obvious reasons why a public, elected figure isn’t going to condone assassination….

You gotta understand that inviting inflammatory language or sentiments like that is escalating an already precarious and highly volatile political environment.

The Republicans have no shame and have no interest in improving society so they have no issue in appealing and instigating the radical parts of their base to score messaging points. But overall it’s not healthy for a democratic society to be comfortable with political assassinations (regardless of how much the victims deserve it).

Especially in a country with as many guns as we have.

Said it 100000000x better than I could have.

No one in power wants to encourage Assassinations. No one rich wants to encourage "Eat the Rich". So of course he will give condolences, as he should considering his circumstances and position in life. Only those who want the power, but not have it, seek to violently eliminate those in power. Only those with power and want to keep it, seek to violently eliminate those seeking to take their power.

So, he is not out of touch, he is in touch with his position and what is best for him and his. It is about time everyone else work to be that way about your own circumstances and understand that not everyone sees the world as you do. It makes it a lot easier to understand that just because they are in the same party as you, or same ethnicity, or same nation, etc. does not mean they see the issues the same as you. That is where debates and supporting your position with facts comes in to maybe change minds.

"Objectively wrong about how people perceive the wealthy"

They called the same party that let fukking Michael Bloomberg and JB pritzker an actual multimillionaire socialist anyway.

It.Does.Not.Matter what they say or do to respond to the claims of being seen as socialist. They will call them that anyway.

Democrats ran someone who would support republican designed border security bills, continue to send money for Israel, talked about shooting guns, has ties to law enforcement, would support fracking and what did they call her? A socialist.

She rejected Medicare for all, and literally campaigned with Liz fukking Cheney and they called her a communist. These people do not care what words mean and the general public tends to support policies that give them a break, just like they did during the depression, and just like they did during 2008 and covid.

Stop it. I expect a politician to know how to not condone murder while at the same time acknowledging the political and economic realities that led to people reacting to the murder this way and nggas want to tell me that's too much to ask for and that this is the best we should expect.

Then I guess America really is cooked and deserves to fall off.

The same people “smoking on that CEO pack” are the same who took their dumb ass to the polls and voted for Trump, someone who is in the pocket of big business and big insurance companies. So they have no idea what they want.

Walz is doing what he should be doing.

Nggas acting like a man who says whatever he wants and said "I saw them eating cats and dogs on TV too" didn't just get elected.

This respectability shyt DOES NOT WORK. I don't know how many election losses mf will need to take before they figure it out.

Do NOT express condolences to the family of a multimillionaire who got rich denying people life saving care. He easily could have said he has no comment at this time or could have said "it's tragic that a man felt the need to commit murder" side with the motherfukking public, NOT the CEO.

People are accusing you of being out of touch with the public and saying this is one of the reasons you lost the election. What you DON'T DO is say that you knew the guy that the public hates and say that you have sympathy with HIM instead of his victims.

As that for profit college ngga says:

Absolutely.
You don’t gotta celebrate the murder, but you gotta ACKNOWLEDGE THE PEOPLE.
Nobody is sad this guy died. Yeah y’all were “friends” but you gotta appeal to the people that vote.
“Trump tells it like it is” won twice and most people seem more okay with it the 2nd time.
Dems (politicians and the fanbase) gotta get with the times

That’s what you’re really saying.
