Seems to me that intelligence is perceptive. As long as AI can predict atleast one step ahead of us we'll accept it as true AI aka sentient.. that is until we can see a pattern.

True AI would need to show unlimited capability of learning, which, without caps would mean we would create some sort of god like being .. that is unless we put some sort of restriction such as human empathy or some other bullshyt computer could care less about.

I agree tho, we don't have any tech like this out and it's gonna be a long time. People gotta remember that we're still on the cusp of this processor revolution. shyt won't really start popping off till we fukking with 1,000 core clusters and shyt.

but programming it to 'know' we exist isn't saying much. it's just assigning a value to a variable. it's like saying my pocket calculator 'knows' pi. I don't think too many people would define that as "artificial intelligence"
