Travis Hunter’s Draft projection makes no sense

Keenan Allen college YPR - 12

Just two that I've found in addition to the guys people listed in here(Amon Ra, Welker, Antonio Brown)

But there are a ton of receivers who have been complete busts who have a higher YPR(lol). Lots of guys who look good at that level but don't have the requisite skills to do it at the higher level.

Lots of receivers who never put up impressive college numbers who became great in nfl. Puka Nacua put up 600 yards on 13 YPR his last season in college and is a top 10 receiver only 2 years in.

A lot of this stuff is system and surrounding talent dependent anyways. Plus factor in him also playing DB full time.

Being compared to Devante Smith which is 6.0 165 and Travis being 6’1 185? What are we doing here

Being compared to the Phenom Smiths YPC at Ohio State like Smith don’t have a top 3 wide receiver EMEKA on the other side who often attracts the top corner on the other team.

We going to sit here and act like Travis Hunter isn’t a great route runner or probably the best wide receiver on the draft a high pointing the ball.

We going to sit here and talk about him while playing all the offensive snaps only gave up one TD at corner this year?

We going to talk about while being “too small” is probably the best tackler on the Buffs defense.

We going to sit here and act like he’s not being coached by the best corner to ever play the game? And that’s no question.

This dude is a monster and deserving of being a top 3 over all pick. He is a cant miss prospect at both WR and CORNER.

Idk if he would be an elite DB tho because that seems like a position you have to be super technically skilled in

I’ve seen normal good college WR from him

The stuff he’s been able to do at DB instinctively you cannot teach almost. I’ve seen about 2-4 ints over the part 2 years that blew me away, and I’ve heard guys that get paid to do this say the same.

He will have to learn a lot and prove himself but skill wise he has a “superpower” as we like to call it

He's not WR1 or DB1 which makes this weird. Did he deserve the Heisman? Yes. Is he a top ten pick? Sure. But if I want a WR I'm going with Tetairoa and if I want a DB I'm going with Will Johnson (or Malaki Starks who can be the Brian Branch of this draft).

Patriots would be idiots to draft a WR #1 when Will Campbell is right there. Get your QB someone who will keep him off his ass. And with the way things are trending they can probably trade down and still get him. I'd be calling the Giants seeing if they want to move up.

I think he's gonna be good. He loves football, is motivated, super talented, got that dog in him etc. I'm just saying he's not DB1 or WR1 in this draft, and when I look at the teams (presumably) picking in the top five I don't really see where he should go. Pats would be fools not to go o-line, whether they stay at #1 or trade back. Titans and Browns probably going QB. Jags just drafted their WR1 last year. Maybe the Giants, since we can assume they won't be drafting a black QB lol? I got a feeling they just take the best defensive player left, which will be either of the Michigan guys.
