For all the smart DUMB NIKKAS...

There is no constitutional legislation that prevents an elector from being a faithless elector, meaning that, an elector can cast their own vote despite what the popular vote says for their state and it would not be against the law. Only a few states have civil penalties for faithless electors. :wow:

#2 There is no federal law against an elector who chooses to be faithless in their vote despite what their states popular vote is :wow:

And for the dummies who don’t know history this has happened 3 times in presidential elections where electors were faithless in their votes and voted for another candidate despite what their states popular vote was

Happened with Bush, Gore, Trump and Clinton

In an election like Biden and Trump where 1 states vote can decide the election there are some who fear there will be faithless electors who may try to swing the electoral vote in Trumps favor.

So you ignant nikkas can hate on KRS all you want but the real bruhs who have been in politics, and have studied politics understand this.

Martin and his panel were disingenuous in not bringing up the 2 points I first mentioned.

Cot damn some of you nikkas are clueless

Y’all dummies better stay WOKE!!!

:lupe:

I remember this vaguely... I need to do some research

Do you think you’re the only person who thinks like this?

there millions with this same thought, which is why trump & other racist won. If all y’all “my vote doesn’t count” people actually voted, we wouldn’t be in this predicament.

we have to vote in the folks who actually vote for the president, but if all y’all stay home then republicans can control the electoral college

Panel was talking about real life circumstances. I can see why some here would rather deflect and bring the convo down to a lower level.

This "no vote" shyt is promoted by and benefits white Republicans. YTers got some coins put in their pockets to put a new spin on it. Packaging like it's a proactive sign of defiance and sell it to Black men.

shyt is a long con. Dudes will realize that in the future.

"To quote him......knowledge rules supreme over NEARLY everyone"
"Brother you're not a revolutionary, because if you were, you wouldn't be on tv saying that you're a revolutionary"
"To brothers encouraging people to not vote, self destruction, you're headed for self destruction"

I might be the biggest fan of Krs' music on this site, but Dr. Carr was lighting him up.

The way he effortlessly used Kris' stage name acronym and lyrics to heat him. It's what Michael Eric Dyson tries so hard to do.

Dr. Carr used to do battle with a conservative guy that used to be a panelist. Many of the actual Black conservatives have backed away from the spotlight, so that side doesn't get represented in discussions much. They are smart to believe whatever they believe, but to publicly distance themselves from supporting or defending Trump.

One of the only pluses to 2020 is that the pandemic has brought a lot of scholars to podcasts and webinars. They've brought their lectures and discussions to the internet, and it's good that young people can hear from educated Black people, if they chose to.

faithless electors didn't change the outcome of those elections.

The Electoral College - "Faithless Electors"

snippet:

Sometimes Electors change their votes in large groups, such as when 23 Virginia Electors acted together in 1836. Many times, however, these Electors stood alone in their decision. As of the 2000 election, no Elector has changed the outcome of an election by voting against their party’s designated candidate.

Faithless electors in the 2016 United States presidential election - Wikipedia

In the 2016 United States presidential election, ten members of the Electoral College voted or attempted to vote for a candidate different from the ones to whom they were pledged. These faithless electors were part of a movement dubbed the Hamilton Electors co-founded by Micheal Baca of Colorado and Bret Chiafalo of Washington. The movement attempted to find 37 Republican electors willing to vote for a different Republican in an effort to deny Donald Trump a majority in the Electoral College and force a contingent election in the House of Representatives. Three of these votes were invalidated under the faithless elector laws of their respective states, and the elector either subsequently voted for the pledged candidate or was replaced by someone who did. Although there had been a combined total of 155 instances of individual electors voting faithlessly prior to 2016 in over two centuries of previous US presidential elections, 2016 was the first election in over a hundred years in which multiple electors worked to alter the result of the election. The electors advocated for voting their conscience to prevent the election of someone they viewed as unfit for the presidency as prescribed by Alexander Hamilton in No. 68 of The Federalist Papers. Electors were subjected to public pressure, including death threats.

As a result of the seven successfully cast faithless votes, the Democratic Party nominee, Hillary Clinton, lost five of her pledged electors while the Republican Party nominee and then president-elect, Donald Trump, lost two.
Three of the faithless electors voted for Colin Powell while John Kasich, Ron Paul, Bernie Sanders, and Faith Spotted Eagle each received one vote. The defections fell well short of the number needed to change the result of the election; only two of the seven defected from the winner, whereas 37 were needed to defect in order to force a contingent election in Congress (a tally of less than 270).

I watch him and Karen Hunter’s class every Saturday on YouTube. He gives so many books and so much information. Where you can research for yourself. Knowledge dropped every week. He’s a treasure.
