This is why I do homework with my kids
It’s mindblowing to me how any parent can just drop their kid off at school and not do any sort of personal teaching with them outside of their school hours.:mindblown:

When I used to live my father, he would sometimes work late nights and I wouldn’t see him until the day after and dude would still be on my ass about school. He used to get math workbooks from the local Rite Aid pharmacy down the street and circle off problems for me to do on the weekends, and if he was working on the Saturday my grandmother would check over them and work with me to do the ones I couldn’t understand.

I used to hate that shyt back then. Some nights I would be crying because I couldn’t hop on the PS2 because I couldn’t complete all the work he did. :russ: Now that i’m 30 and looking back dude was a fukking GOAT level father because I would have been doomed if he wasn’t in my life.:russ:

who do you think is responsible for teaching a child how and why to take their education seriously?

You negroes think that kids are just supposed to pop out of the womb is fully formed adults.

No motherfukker, you have to nurture, teach and discipline your child
Yep, if you understand sociology...this kind of stuff actually makes sense tbh

Sucks that white will use this to try and say it's proof were lower IQ.

it's as valid as seeing black students cluster at the bottom of the list, even lower than Native Americans in some instances and concluding that it's a problem with the parents.

Fully blaming the parents instead of laying some of that at the feet of the governments that are abandoning schools in black areas.

Cold part is: Parents can integrate their reading into their everyday activities if they really tried. Those games and shyt they play DO require some reading skill. Hell, turn on the CC on their favorite shows. Idk, that’s what I did.

…SOME of the things I did

What does the government have to do with basic math and reading that can be learned at home?

You needed the government to tell you 3x3 =6?

You can't fukking read (ironic given the subject matter). I said SOME of the blame belongs there, not all of it. There is definitely some parental responsibility, as your parents would know.:yeshrug:

Agree. It’s so many resources out here to help your children with academics. It also hurts us when we don’t want to get our children help or diagnosed when they have learning/behavioral disabilities. I lucked up my son loves reading and math so naturally he is excelling. I’ve also been challenging him at home.
You didn’t luck up breh. Your child loves reading and math because you put time in and opened his mind. Now he cannot imagine life without curiosity, problem solving, and adventure.

My son started Kindergarten this year. Literally scored in the 98th percentile in reading and 91st percentile in math. We have to ensure our kids know they are able and keep their minds all the way open. That’s how you get outwardly brilliant kids.

They always use that as a scapegoat to eliminate choices and personal accountability. I grew up in not the best conditions but I wanted better for myself and chose differently. Did I encounter racist stuff? Definitely but that didn't stop me or put me in a position to knock me off my spot y'all gotta start being real with yourselves
