So we are the only ones that go to public schools?
I don't know who the "we" are that you are mentioning. I stated that there has been an ongoing attempt to defund public schools. They have been defunding public education since the 60s and 70s and lately they have been shifting the money to charter schools and religious schools.

If you don't know who "we" is then I dont know what to tell you. You must have lost the context of the thread...

Youre trying to use the excuse that we are failing in every subject because of schools being defunded. So again, are WE the only ones that go to public schools or no?

Let's give it up for the black girls and boys in Massachusetts doing the damn thang :whew:

It feels good (like Toni Toni Tone!) that Jay Tatum and J Brown brought a title home for those brehs and brehettes :salute:

It has always been this way. In fact, Black American students are doing way better than their parents and grandparents did on these tests.

Not to mention many Southern states where blacks are the majority are using NCLB and standards are a lot higher than they were in the 70s - 2000s.

Also shout out to Texas.

Black students in Maine are mostly Somali refugees and they are dead last here.

The chart says the top places for black folk in education are DoDea (educational district for defense workers), Massachusetts, Vermont (a small state like Maine whose black population is growing and is mostly of an African refugee stock), followed by Texas, Georgia, and Florida.

I would have thought New Jersey, New York, and North Carolina would be higher.

Guys. There’s a way to combat these ridiculing surveys. Put up the numbers of Nigerian Americans doing circles on these fucckas.

Houston to LA like I'm Robert Horry.
Comparing the aptitude of those who willingly came here to us who were slaves and once given freedom didn’t have solid ground to walk on is disingenuous and will always be disingenuous. The only comparable group is Native Americans and they aren’t doing well either. As we know however first and second generation Black people from other countries do pretty well here.

THAT BEING SAID, nothing changes if nothing changes. No one is going to bail us out so there needs to be mentality shift at large. I have no idea what would be the catalyst for that change however. Seems like things are just getting worse :francis:
