He was making a pretty factual statement on the state of Africa and black people at that time. It was relatively underdeveloped and black peoples were subjugated (hell today many still are). These are FACTS nikka. To get out from under that state of affairs would require adapting some western culture and technology.

Dubois wanted integration for American Blacks which was never going to work. And pure socialism without economic classes like communism for Africans. Which was also never going to work. Capitalism is the best way wealth can be built. Then a hybrid system can be put in place similar to the nordic countries.


Garvey on the other hand wanted separatism. Which is the only way groups can gain power. He wrongly thought though that Christianity was a good idea to propagate in Africa. It's a pro-white religion and should be rejected.

Native monotheistic African religions that can replace Islam and Christianity should be promoted instead.
