If I'm Kamala I'd do anything in my power to get Shapiro. Maybe he says no because 2028 looks better for him. But he'd be my top candidate. I like Beshear a lot but his state isn't competitive. Cooper could make NC competitive.

Shapiro is more energetic than both, can deliver PA, and will play well in general.

If I was him I wouldn't take the job. Same with Whitmer, Pritzker, Moore, and Newsom. Waiting for 2028 makes way too much sense no matter who wins this year. The UK just demonstrated the danger of handing the keys to a successor who hasn't gone through an actual election/primary process. If things break bad they REALLY break bad if you don't have a natural support base. Kamala will have to prove she has that, if she wins in November.

i'd say it's beshear because he has no future in kentucky as a senator. i don't know about cooper in NC, but beshear doesn't go anywhere
