Ja Morant takes a shot at the media’s apparent MVP-bias for Jokic (“it’s obvious [who] they want”)

Completely agree. :yeshrug:

Just shows how much :mjpls: went into Kobe being robbed in 06.

He was the most hated athlete in the country. Colorado was still fresh. He'd lost 90% of his endorsements. Shaq was thriving in Miami. And he was a Laker on top of all that. He even caught a stray from Samuel L in Lakeview Terrace. :russ:

The media was ready to phase him out after the new crop of talent started taking off and developing, but his scoring tear that season was too wild to ignore. Dude was really out there playing against what felt like the world at the time.

Its always amazing to me how we correct ourselves when it comes to a white athlete though.

Uncertain grounds
Honestly MVP is always debatable every year I stopper giving af. I rather check the All NBA lineup. If your team is 16-2 without you then nah. If your team falls apart without you, then its obvious on the impact.

Yeah but lowkey a lot of that is on the coach too. If one player goes down and the team falls apart then that's an indictment on the coach and the system he uses

What hurts Booker is that while his numbers are obviously damn good, they don’t jump off the screen and on top of that there’s a lot folks who feel CP3 is more important

It was the reason Monty Williams didn't win the Coach of the Year last year. People feel the CP3 effect mattered more

Really the only time we saw the MVP go to a guy on a relatively average team was Russ on OKC, and that's because he had the first triple-double season since Oscar Robertson, on some shyt that people never thought would happen again.

Grizz are 15-1 against teams below 500 or was missing their star player without Ja.

When you look into who they beat instead of the record, it all make sense. They should be able to be beat trash teams without Ja.

Jokic is on pace to set the all time high in PER, which is the most basic and accepted advanced stat there is today. He’s carrying a roster of role players to 10 games over .500 in the West. Aaron Gordon is their second best player? Who is even their number 3 this season?

He’s not even going to win mvp at this rate because their record has slipped but its wild to question his greatness at this point. Does anyone watch Nuggets games? It’s literally him controlling games and running everything.

I get why players are confused on the criteria but before CP3 got hurt he had more mvp buzz than Booker. Giannis, Joel and Jokic are clearly playing on a different level than the rest of the league this season. Giannis is almost entitled to it based on his dominant Finals performance and carrying it into the following year. Again, do people actually watch Bucks games? His impact is insane
