This notion that Jokic is carrying is crazy. Guys like Bones, Morris, Boogie and AG are legit ballers

His bench literally won him last that 76ers game when he was on the bench and getting outperformed by Embiid
This is perhaps the most disingenuous post I’ve read all season. If I didn’t know any better I’d swear it was satire.

You reference ONE game where the bench won the Nuggets the game as evidence that Jokic isn’t carrying the team? Is he supposed to win them every single game in order for you to acknowledge he’s doing so?

:usure:

Boogie only just recently joined the team and is a shell of his former self. How ridiculous to you have to be to use him as evidence that Jokic isn’t carrying the team?! Bones is a rookie who was taken at the end of the first round; Morris and AG are role players that don’t move the needle. If that’s how you judge how a player is/isn’t carrying a team, then no player throughout NBA history has ever carried their team. But I know you’re just bullshytting and don’t believe what you just posted.

The majority of the folks who vote for MVP don't even get into cacalytics like that. They're sheep and follow whatever narrative is the hottest and look at box score numbers. Goalposts always move with who's MVP, it's always been the case, because it's all narrative based. Where was this energy when Westbrook won MVP on a 6th seed all because he averaged a triple double?

:usure:

Exactly. Those Twitter analytic bros are not the ones who vote for MVP.

It’s Ramona Shelburne, Chris Broussard, Woj, Shams, Chris Haynes, Rachel Nichols, Taylor Rooks, Malika Andrews, Brian Windhorst, etc.

Stephen A & Bill Simmons had MVP votes last season :dead:

Those dudes who run 538, Basketball-Reference, Statmuse, etc. do not get a real say-so

Ja tweeted last year that Steph should be the mvp as a 9 seed, he ain’t slick. Maybe he just doesn’t like Jokic :yeshrug:

Jokic, Embiid and Giannis have all had historic seasons and are pretty easily the best/most valuable players in the league. Book, Ja, Tatum, Steph, Derozan etc are cool but not on that level.

I've just never understood the Kobe was robbed argument. Westbrook is the only player in like 40 years to win it as a 6th seed, and I didn't agree with that either. Media had stars in their eyes over his trip dub average. If he put up 8 and 8 he wouldn't have gotten it. If people say Kobe should have won it, then maybe we need to look back at other players who put up big numbers on mediocre teams and say they were all robbed too.

Kobe was playing at a gawdly level that year averaging 43ppg for a whole month, but he dragged bum ass nikkas to the 7th seed. MVP went to Nash...suns were the #2 seed.

Jokic is putting up gawdly numbers playing without his sidekicks and he's about to be the 7th seed.

If you watch ESPN/Twitter Cac media they got Jokic as the clear favorite.

Booker hasnt even been in the discussion and his squad is #1 even with CP3 going down..Is it oochie walley :hula: one mic?

Ja isn’t even advocating for himself so I don’t know why y’all are shytting on him:mjlol:

he’s trying to say that book should at least be in the top 5 mvp candidate conversation

though if we’re keeping it real, based on team records and all that- the mvp convo should be something like: Giannis, Embiid, book, ja, and curry

exactly...people thinking Ja trying to slide his name in when he's asking a valid question

you're clearly not on twitter

:mjtf:

there's no way in hell u think his campaign is quiet when they fukking drool over every single pass he makes everyday
You can find muh’fukkas drooling over every player on Twitter - that doesn’t mean every player has a a MVP campaign for them. Jokic’s passes we’re being gassed earlier in the season when everyone was so preoccupied arguing who the MVP was between KD and Steph. Nxggas literally ignored that Jokic was arguably playing better than both of them. He’s a fat Euro playing in Denver, so it only makes sense folks weren’t paying attention like that.

You know damn well plenty of players were being hyped for MVP before Jokic’s name was even at the top of the conversation. The campaigning for him being MVP has been relatively quiet, as it was last season (I remember nxggas saying they forget all about it because there wasn’t much noise around it). All these players have been getting MVP chants throughout the season and I bet you Jokic wouldn’t even be in the top-5 for that. A small number of white dudes on Twitter is hardly reflective of the campaign, itself. You only choose to focus on them because you don’t like the crowd they represent.

good point

Kobe didn't get mvp for dragging that sorry ass Laker team to the 7th seed in 06 with his historic scoring at the time. they gave that shyt to Nash :hhh:

can't start changing the narrative now
Kobe deserved the award that year. What do you mean by changing narrative though? Cause Westbrook won the award dragging his team to 6th seed.

It's between Giannis, Embiid and Jokic on who gets the award. It is what it is.

Ja looking goofy as fukk rn. Bringing up seeding and shyt when he didn’t keep the same energy last season.

Proving his point.

Seeding hurt Steph last season so he sensibly adjusted his criteria match the MVP voters. Only for him to then see that same criteria switch up once again because Jokic is looking like he could fall to the 7 seed yet is still firmly rooted in the #2 MVP voting spot while Book gets no love

There’s a clear pattern emerging here of adjusting and readjusting the criteria season-by-season for Jokic, and current and ex-players alike are finally calling it out

The result of that game was used to bolster his MVP argument despite him being thoroughly outplayed on both sides of the ball by Embiid. That's why it was referenced.

And I've seen enough Nuggets games to know that those guys aren't the bums that his fans try to make them out to be.

Sure, but we shouldn't keep making mistakes just because we made them before lol.
Its always amazing to me how we correct ourselves when it comes to a white athlete though.
