Because it's routine business. Any player coming off a decent season declines their player option in search of a multi-year deal, Horford & Hayward didn't have years anywhere near as good as 2021 CP3 and they still got huge bags after opting out.

He's also helping the Suns with this opt-out, that $44m cap hit would've limited their flexibility. Now they have some wiggle room to maneuver while still being able to keep him.

Right, agents and FOs negotiate throughout the year. CP's agent knows its basically in stone. It is rare for any side to renig on a deal that they had an agreement for.

Go home to the Pelicans CP3, NO is a playoff team with possibly the most dominant scorer in the NBA right now. Finish your career where it started at, help another team become a playoff success and solidify your position as an all time great leader .


This is easily the bestove for him, Zion would average 30ppg EASILY with CP3 making sure he gets the rock . There is not a better player in the league he could get next to next year than Zion.
