It didn't flop. It had a decent three to five year run. But it's target audience is extremely trendy and abandoned the brand overnight. They didn't even have a chance to transition to faggy styles like scarves and skinny jeans.
naw fubu died out during the button up throwback jersey era the last fubu collection that sold well was the Harlem globetrotters collection back around 2002 ishIt didn't flop. Sh!t was just too urban IMO.
You cant wear FUBU and be low-key. Sh!t was made for the urban/hiphop glitz
I'm low-key and dont like to attract attention to myself in public around people i dont know. Wearing FUBU and their bug ass logos and sh!t was way too LOUD
AKA egoThat is why I never rocked that stuff either, and it was as if every hip-hop label at the time has a fashion line.
FUBU's problem wasn't really shyt going out of style or black people only liking fads, it was that it catered to a niche market and lacked vision. The fashion industry relies on trends (this is why there are such things like 60s, 70s, 80s fashion) but you have to have a wider audience and be able to have greater creative vision for the brand instead of baggy jeans and over-sized tees for it to be successful. Those dudes probably didn't see the reemergence of tight pants among black men, or fitted tees, button downs, and loafers. They probably thought their style would last forever and they wouldn't have to ever change it up. That's what their downfall was.
jersey's outta style too unless your a middle aged dad or an actual baller![]()
American culture in general is trendy, honestly.Whats up with this crap that only black people are "trendy"?
i actually meant famous people... you see jay-z in some shyt, you ready to cop it... even tho it's been in the store for 3 years, and you wasn't even looking twice at it
that happens way more than seeing some white guy
take gino green for example... avirex... fubu... those lines didn't blow up till rappers were wearing them and all the sudden they had to be had.... then rappers stopped wearing them and it was "oh that shyt is wack now"
yes flop. is it still running?did this beta say flopped? Fufu was one of the highest grossing clothing lines for years.
Only on the Coli does that constitute a flop.
