JF ceiling and QB profile is Lamar Jackson/Jalen Hurts
CW ceiling and QB profile is Pat Mahomes/Aaron Rodgers

Caleb's upside as a passer is higher. Kid threw for 363 in game 3, Justin just got his first 240 yard game in Year 4.

:mjlol:

Bears opted for the better projected PASSER and for resetting the QB clock.

Now the mfer needs to throw an accurate deep ball because wtf
But Lamar Jackson has won the MVP award; twice. :why:

On top of that Jackson and Hurts have both been to conference championship games and Hurts has been to the Super Bowl. So how exactly is Fields being profiled like them a bad or a negative thing? :heh:

Dan Marino and Dan Fouts are the best pure passing quarterbacks in NFL history. They appeared in one Superbowl between the 2 of them.

Man its just folks who still obsessed with the idea of peak fields.

And I still am a big fan of crodie and am glad hes winning now but enough is enough the comparisons are goofy.
Right now you guys have a pure QB trying to figure out what works at the NFL level.

Today had that feeling that if they were able to get the ball again Caleb probably gets the score.

Good things happen with those players. Fields is playing good, but Caleb is still a better upgrade in the long run.

Its not really a bad thing. They wanted a rookie pocket passer over the chance that fields could one day be lamar

Time will tell which choice was right

It is a ridiculous conversation to have unless people know the full backstory on Fields time in Chicago. He had 3 different offensive coordinator in 4 years in Chicago. So he had zero stability and zero training until his final season there which is when he just happened to have his best season. Fields also played behind that same terrible offensive line that got Williams sacked 7 times last week in Houston and a few more times today in Indianapolis; so he had enough sense to run for his life. Let's not forget that Fields also only had 2 receivers (Moore and Kmet) that were worth a damn. Moore came in that trade from Carolina so Fields didn't even play with Moore that long.

So it is silly to compare Williams and Fields, because Williams is playing with better skill playesr than Fields had so of course he is going to throw for more yards than Fields did. I think that Williams is going to be a good player, but I also think that the Bears gave up on Fields and the Titans gave up on Malik Willis without making a full commitment to them. I am happy that Fields and Willis are getting their redemption though with better organizations than the ones that gave up on them.

When has a QB in the mold of Lamar Jackson or Jalen Hurts won a Superbowl?

Yal aren't really following me with what I'm saying. Even if Justin reaches that level, those guys tend to struggle more in the playoffs. They also get exposed when their teams fall behind and they have to manufacturer points, FAST. As good as they are, they have smaller margins for error IMO.

Even in this game today and last week Caleb had 3 turnovers, but you still feel like he can throw the team to a win.

THAT is simply not the case with true dual threat QBs

This is fukking pathetic!! The whole OLine on they sorry ass against a subpar D. They should be tied up and beat with soap socks.
Better yet cut them, because they are all horrible. The Bears could literally pick up better linemen off the waiver wire.

I mean...Hurts and Lamar probably have a couple Super Bowls the last two years if not for Mahomes.

So in theory you're correct you'd rather have the more Mahomes like guy. It's on Caleb (and more importantly the organization to help) to be that guy.

Mooney looks fine with Atl and he was good with JF a few years ago. Jf had weapons the biggest issue was coaching. He is not with a hof coach and winning games since they know how to play within strengths over there.

Its still a ridiculous comparison based on emotion and love for Fields. They arent the same type of player. They are being asked to do different things. The gap in coaching is immense. Its also been 3 fukking games. We gave jf 3 years to show out. It took jf 3 years and DJ moore having the game of his life to break 300 yards n caleb just did it year one. They are being asked to do diff shyt. They wanted the passer and thats where we are now.

Can we stop this bullshyt? Justin Fields was not making every throw here in Chicago. Maybe.... JUST maybe, the dude got better in Year 4. He was turning the ball over in the clutch, he was holding on to the ball too long. He was taking bad sacks. We are not going to act like dude was just amazing and not fukking up enough for them to move tf on.

They made a decision and they have to live with it.

Bears invested in him, got him Moore, passed on Stroud. They traded for Claypoole who was some shyt, Mooney was seen as legit until he wasn't.

This revisionist history like Justin didn't have time to sway the organization one way or the other is ridiculous.
