Yeah that would be a good hire. Bring some damn normalcy to the organization.

Pete Carroll was the Jets coach before he went back to college :dahell:

I think he would take the bears job because they have a good defensive core and all the things for a good offense except coaching. Problem is that division is a dogfight right now like the AFC North. Packers are 11-4 and in 3rd place.

I know he was the Jets coach before that was 30 years ago. He is far more experienced and brings the right mentality to a floundering franchise. Pete is a youthful 73 years and knows how to talk to high personality NFL players and while he is a defensive mind he knows how to hire competent offensive minds.

He's 73. They need stability and you want to hire a coach that old:why:

I don't think you have to hire an offensive head coach. You need to hire the right leader. I have no idea of Ben's ability to lead a team. If he aces the interviews then okay but if there's a defensive coach who does then hire him and get the OC right.

Jayden Daniels has been amazing with Dan Quinn. People acting like the head coach is there to cater to the QB and that's not the case.

I'm seeing Kellen Moore as a candidate. That feels more like forcing an OC into the job. Aaron Glenn seems more ready as a leader so if Ben Johnson goes elsewhere they shouldn't base the sole focus of the hire on Caleb.

Pete got some years left as he's a young 73. Remember NFL stands for Not For Long, I'd go for a proven commodity over some younger coordinator who hasn't proven they can run a whole organization. The Bears can't get this one wrong, so I wouldn't go with the less proven commodity.

You can't hire a guy who might be pushing 80 when you're ready to contend. Unless he has a succession plan go younger.

If you want a retread Vrabel is out there but I'd prefer giving a new guy a shot.

Sounds like the same gameplan they've used since Lovie left. Guess they should do it again huh
