No the Bucs were only in the AFC West for one year, their inaugural season in 1976. Since Y2 they've always been NFC...

The Hawks started as NFC that same year ('76), but were AFC from 1977 thru 2001...
I tweaked, I meant the Bucs were in the same division with Lions/Pack/Vikings/Bears (NFC North, formerly NFC Central)

I remember the seahawks as a kid were always in the AFC. I've always been an NFC head, so I never paid attention to them until they switched

Yeah, the Seahawks were in the AFC West with Kansas City, LA-Oakland, Denver, and San Diego. They were playing in the Kingdome. Joey Galloway looked like he ran in another gear on that astroturf. I know Warren Moon played a year or two towards the twilight of his career. R.I.P. Cortez Kennedy

This Vikings team is who the league wanted to switch up the playoff format for???

:mjlol:

Schedule pumped with the trash teams from the AFC South and the Jets & Giants.

As long as schedule strength can vary so widely, I can't see any major chages happening.

This.
Bonus round: Lions might be frauds.
Been saying all year that for the third place team in that division to be doing so well, and for Darnold to be ballin like he was, the North must be feasting on some type of schedule irregularity. Wildcard weekend was not a good look for that division, and I wont's be surprised if the skins win that game next weekend.

It doesn’t matter that they lost. Their options were literally 1st round bye or drop to 5th seed. The Rams didn’t face that at all.

WERE TRASH SO NONE OF THIS
SHOULD MATTER

Records should count for something. Winning your division and automatically getting into the playoffs is enough.

So what?

They were at no risk of missing the playoffs.

Maybe they should have rested their guys in that Week 18 game to prep for what actually mattered.

You get a good enough record and you get into the playoffs. That's enough.

The Bucs were a 5 seed in 2020 and 4 games better than their WC round opponent, just like the Vikings were yesterday.

But the Bucs won. Interesting how that worked out.
