Monty is getting ripped. good thing his contract is fully guaranteed. That’s generational money for his kids
He STARTED Killian Hayes for like 10 games bro
I get that the roster is basically a treasure trove of lottery busts but starting someone who is clearly not an NBA player is crazy

Coli.

Monty didn't even want to coach for a year wanted to take off(pretty much wait for a playoff team to fire their coach), only reason he is in Detroit is because the dumbass owner wanted to make a splash since Houston was able to hire the best coach available in Ime, if Monty didn't get that contract the pistons would most likely have Kevin Ollie as the head coach and he might have been better for the team.

Impossible to properly evaluate anything he's doing with the lineups and spacing they have on the court. Putting Ausar-Stew-Duren out there together in 2023 isn't serious basketball.
Ausar has proven himself to be a better talent than Cade, once he learns to shoot it's his team going forward.

Has any rookie ever refused the extension?

Porzingis asked out of NY right before he would've been offered it, think he's the only "star" player to effectively turn it down in the 2010s. Ben Simmons might be the next closest when he started his hold out with 4+ years remaining damn near right after signing it. :russ:

The wizards are a bad team, but they've been due for a win, they almost beat the bucks in Milwaukee the other night.

The pistons are a combination of bad coaching and lack of talent. Team chamraderie was good til Monty decided to fukk with Ivey. He knows he gonna get a bag and has no loyalty to the area.

Also, our fan base has devolved over the years. I remember getting jumped online a decade ago cause I said Reggie Jackson was the worst free agent signing, he's a career backup, the team needed to be torn down and rebuilt. We could've rebuilt when Drummond still had trade value. Piece by piece I've watched the fans online break down sorry transaction by sorry transaction, always giving excuses for the people running the ship. Killian Hayes.

Look where all this mediocrity led us to :stopitslime:

Cade was the MVP of the rising stars challenge throwing lobs to Evan Mobley. He showed out over the summer with Team USA. Surround him with talent and he shines. U can't give Jason kidd a team of raja bells and theo Ratliffs and expect him to work miracles. People saying give up on him don't understand 🏀

Trade Cade and we the Sacramento Kings/La Clippers franchise from the 80s.

Cade is out, for sure. Ain't no way he stays when his deal is up. This franchise is a shytshow.
No rookie has ever turned down a max contract extension and Cade wouldn’t either if offered. It’s too much money in that 5th year to do so.

Take the money and worry about the rest later.

Is the NBA really considering expansion? That is crazy talk. The league is so watered down right now filled with quite a few horrendous teams like Detroit, Washington, San Antonio, Memphis. Just makes no sense whatsoever to expand. If anything move the shytty teams with the worst attendance to a new city.

The league simply isn't deep enough for expansion but nobody wants to hear it. Just cuz a couple of teams here and there have really good depth doesn't mean we need 2 more teams. Mind you, there are players in the league who could use more PT, but there's a difference between that and giving someone an expansion team initially built around them.

The 2nd part is where I disagree (and honestly, moving it to a new city isn't gonna mean much if the ownership still sucks). The Wizards don't suck because of Washington, DC. When the Sixers were bad, Philadelphia wasn't a contributing factor. Some cities have a WAY harder shot at competing in the NBA, but it's doesn't really apply in this case. Simply relocating the Pistons to Vegas doesn't make them better; they'll just be ass in a different time zone.
