Pistons play a brand of ball (especially on the defensive end) that eats up soft teams like the Knicks. Towns weak ass is not rooting out Duren on the glass and Tobias has the size to deal with Towns being a 7 foot 3-ball shooter.

Cade will torch Brunson to negate whatever Brunson does on offense. You can sick Twin on Bridges...or OG...and Tim is a capable defender.

Playoffs are all about match-ups...as we know.
knicks will destroy the pistons quite easily
ill come back to this if they end up fallin back to 6

So how good of a coach is JB bickerstaff? Because I look at Cleveland and Kenny Atkinson took them to a number one seed and the Cavs look better than ever. But then I look at Detroit who couldn't win games JB bakerstaff comes in and makes them a playoff contender. I know they brought in a lot of veterans like Malik Beasley Tobias Harris and Tim Hardaway Jr

No, they start hitting their stride once Ausar was inserted into the starting lineup. Defense took a massive jump. THJ and Ivey were already starting with Cade. And Ivey was shooting over 40% from 3 for the year. Ausar coming in and plugging defensive holes raised the level of the entire defense.

I've heard people outside of teams talk about JB eventually grating on players, but I don't know if I've ever heard players say anything about him. My biggest worry was his offensive sets and creativity, but so far this season I've seen nothing to too show that it's an ongoing issue. Maybe it's his coaching staff that has added some offensive ingenuity, or maybe he's actually improved. From the outside looking in he seemed to get a raw deal and an overly exaggerated bad rap for the Cleveland situation. Whatever it is, so far, in this early stage with the Pistons he seems like a perfect fit and only time will tell if that continues to be true.
He got his initial gigs with the rockets. It’s hard tk find a dark era Turing the harden era but if theatre ever existed one it was during his time. Dude was playing Corey Brewer starter minutes and rolling with a double big lineup of Dwight and Capela.

Cavs had crazy amount of injuries last year. Kenny has a healthy team which is biggest difference. Cavs weren’t beating Celtics last year and they won’t beat them this year either. A team lead by Mitchell can only go so far

The way the media is labeling this like Kenny just took the same team and propelled them to a 1 seed is a little dishonest. Cleveland was injured and had Donovan, Garland, and Mobley all miss around 25 games or more, and JB still got them to the playoffs and into the 2nd round. And Mobley in his 4th year also just naturally improved. Could Atkinson be a better coach and fit for that team, sure. But I don't think this Cleveland squad climbing to #1 is a major surprise or a clear indicator of how much better Atkinson is than JB.

That may be true, but that was 4 teams ago. It doesn't take a huge stretch of imagination to think that someone can be better 7/8 years into their position than they were the year they first started. Coaches can improve with experience just like players. I would say ultimately it's even more possible for coaches to improve to higher heights and for longer than even players, as there are no physical limitations that can cap their capabilities.

Personally I think Atkinson is a better coach for Mobley, as he is rightfully centering the offense around him. Bickerstaff centered the offense around Mitchell and Garland, which I felt was kind of a mistake

However Bickerstaff was so much better for the Cavs in terms of a better defensive identity, more emphasis on rebounding and physicality that I think the current Cavs is missing, and the Pistons have now turned around because of it. Cavs now play like Warriors-lite which can be a positive and a negative depending on how you look at it
