Another point is Lionel Richie beat out Purple Rain for Album of the Year in 1985. This information is readily available over the internet.

She says BM copied other artists from that album word for word when it’s not a cover album. Makes matters worse is some of the most popular records are covers. The epitome being Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You.

Hip-hop right now is sampling a lot of records from the same era and not being risk takers and innovative like she accused BM of.
