As a guy who's working in Computer Science now, almost all of the free education material is taught by Indians who you can barely understand. Goto any simplilearn, or edureka or codecamp video and 9 times out 10 its an Indian teaching it.

True. I was looking at IBM BPM a while ago and it's almost 10/10 that are taught by someone from the sub-continent.

That's a funny thing because they are "proud" of the way they speak and are not overly concerned about making their speech more comprehensible.

When I speak foreign languages or even when I speak English (with my UK accent) when in the US, I try my best to speak in a manner which is more easily understood. I tone down my accent, use American equivalent words etc to help get my message across.

Hell just graduating with a BS in Computer Science is too hard for alot of people around the world. Dropout rates are sky high globally and rise every year. The maths and science courses weed out most of the people.

Why Are Computer Science Degree Dropout Rates So High?

That article claims taking bootcamps might be better to see if you wanna purse CS.

:yeshrug:They advertise the field as competitive with good wages. This drives more people to apply along with the current state of economy. A lot of people of particular apply so they justify raise the standards. If not many people meet the standards, then it justifies hiring foreign labor / outsourcing work so who's the cheapest of labor? Asian/Latino people. Which of those groups is educated, Indian people with some Filipino labor here and there. With that said, FB doesn't have anything to lose out being sued. They can take whatever they get and continue in the same manner.

Whoever was complaining about getting work, your feelings are justified. Big tech has created this standard and it's mimmicked across a lot of companies.

It seems to be intentional and blatant breh.
It's not about lack of qualified U.S workers but seems to be actively favoring and holding positions for foreigners.
I wonder what FB as a company has to gain from this overall. Might be an inside job with some tribalism attached. Like brown people in power doing shady shyt to funnel jobs to their own people at the expense of QUALIFIED US applicants :mjpls:

From the article:
"In its complaint, the Justice Department said Facebook has eschewed its traditional hiring process in cases where it wanted to hire an employee on an H-1B visa for a permanent position. When a temporary visa holder sought such a job, Facebook “diverged from its normal recruiting protocols," according to the government, opting in some cases against “advertising the position on its external website."

If a U.S. worker applied for one of these jobs — and Facebook determined they were qualified — the company appeared to hire them in a different capacity, the lawsuit found. Federal law generally only allows a company to sponsor a temporary worker for a permanent position in cases where there is no qualified U.S. applicant.

The civil rights division has more important things to worry about but I guess...

" The incentive for Republicans to pass a police-reform bill has only diminished since. In June, when House Democrats and the Senate GOP each submitted legislation to be considered, momentum was bipartisan. Almost half of self-identified Republicans expressed the belief that the criminal-justice system needed “major changes” or a “complete overhaul,” according to an Associated Press–NORC poll. Passing legislation to this effect also stood to benefit Trump, who was in the middle of making a reelection pitch to Black voters centered on his signing of the First Step Act, a bipartisan criminal-justice reform bill. He even acknowledged that police abuse their authority at times — a position he would later undermine once demagoguing the protests seemed like it would help him more politically. But for the time being, things looked promising. "

Most big companies I've worked at have been like 90% Indian. They hook each other up with these jobs, especially when they get in the hiring/managerial position and do things such as helping fluff up their resumes and teaching each other these technologies if they don't know them well. This has nothing to do with them being much smarter than everyone else or Americans being underqualified. It just shows how much they look out for each other. We should have been looking out for each other as well, but it just doesn't happen. I'm not saying we should cheat and fluff up resumes, but if you see a job opening, let your brotha know and help teach your folks these technologies.

A lot of these consulting companies will also bring their own countrymen and women over and charge companies a high rate while underpaying their countryman, which allows them to pocket a whole lot of money.

GOOD. I'm an immigrant myself, but there should be no reason why the USA is prioritizing immigrannts over its own citizens.
Also, fukkkk them Asians. They think that because CACS give them good jobs they can look down on black people in America.

Exactly. These tech firms are only successful and ubiquitous because of the American infrastructure that got to grow their company in but they want to give all the jobs to foreigners. Fukk that. You can hire SOME foreigners so we can take the world’s top talent but MOST jobs need to go to Americans. You don’t see Tencent, Alibaba, Baidu, JD, etc. saying they can’t find Chinese engineers. I bet those Asian companies are 98% Chinese.

I don't know why it would be dead under Biden when Harris is the VP who introduced the bill. The House passed the Justice in Policing Act after the Floyd incident. It was introduced by Booker and Harris and had input from several black civil rights organizations. The bill called for several things including stripping police immunity. Trump and Republican senate refused to pass it. Trump said removal of police immunity was completely off the table.
