From someone that played the game:

It's not a boss rush game, that idea came about from the press having played a preview build that frankly did not show the game off in a good light.
The preview build only showed a linear boss to boss gameplay loop with nothing else, really baffling why the devs would do that.

There is footage out there of the game showing exploration, NPCs that can be found and talked to as well doing side quests for them.

-Also RPG elements like a fully functional gear system with stats and gear sets, status ailments, consumable items that can be quick slotted etc.

-You also collect materials from the environment like plants that you either use to craft consumable items with or upgrade stuff with.

-A codex for lore as well as a bestiary that contains information on all the creatures and characters you encounter.

-You have a health, mana and stamina bar. As well as a focus bar you build up and spend on heavy damage attacks.

-3 different weapon stances like Ghost of Tsushima as well as skill trees and transformations into over a dozen creatures.

-It's not a souls game, but more akin to God of War 2018/Bayonetta/Jedi Fallen Order etc.

-Levels are more like Sekiro, they are linear at times and other times they open up and allow for branching paths, secret loot, optional mini bosses and NPCs to discover.

-You can also fast travel between the shrines you rest at, suggesting that you can back track to previous areas of the world and explore more etc.

-There is also a heavy emphasis on story in this game unlike souls games, with multiple endings confirmed as well etc.

Here are a couple of videos that show off some exploration, NPC interaction and combat etc.

TLDR; game is pretty open, a lot of regular enemies and exploration. A lot of collectables, NPC’s and even sidequest to do. More similar to GOW

And there’s two bosses in that one 30 minute demo.

I don’t think the game will be much different than how the press has described it so far. The video is pretty much what they said. Very linear levels with a couple dudes to fight in between the bosses which are the main attraction.

Every preview out there has talked about how the game is more akin to a boss rush style game than a souls style game.



This is how the press is describing it based on what they’ve played.

I ain’t making it up. If the press is wrong than so be it, but at this point we can only talk about what’s been presented.
