The important thing to factor. You still have to do coursework and have the aptitude in whatever field youre in. You need to be on time and focused. Still need to communicate. You need to be able to delay gratification and work diligently. A lot of people who were able to get into the trades..could've gotten a college degree as well. I just don't see it as simple as "they're not going to college so they should go to trade school".

Amen

I’ve worked construction on and off for ten years I’m the most basic contractor at the end of the day and anybody just randomly blabbing about “get a trade!” But not keeping it real with these young men is setting them up for serious disappointment

Cause not everybody trying to have a broken down body at 30. I’m 38 and feel 60.

If you've been following Richard Reeves you'd know this. Problem is in our society is that if we do something to help men it appears that you're anti woman.

A lot of intersectional politics does a number on Black Men
moreso anything pertaining to Black Men gets lumped into Black People, which causes people to believe the nonsense that Black Men don’t unite or connect with each other.

Tbh, I feel like there's been a war on education (for men).

From influencers on down, there's also the idea that education for education's sake is "bad".

This is because education has now become PURELY a vocational product.

Children should learn Math and Chemistry and Physics and Philosophy and Art history
to expand their horizons NOT just to "get a job".

The problem always boils down to workers vs. whoever controls the factory.

It doesn't matter if you're the person delivering packages OR the person working
on ensuring the supply chain works effectively.

We should all be paid fair wages in a system that doesn't strip you of your dignity and
a means to reliably feed yourself.
Why do you think this change has taken place? What forces do you think this benefits?

Why is that?
Because nobody is looking out for black males in this country unless they're making white ppl money in some capacity.

The average black male might as well be invisible. Their plight is to be ignored until they're socioeconomically wiped out.

That's what this system has currently pivoted to.

With this being said why does no one prepare black boys for the future? @NYC Rebel @ViShawn

What are y'all's thoughts?

The conspiracy to tear our boys down has always been there. I remember being in fifth grade and it being the first time I was confronted with a white female teacher clearly favoring the girls more than they did us boys. And being at my family was not from the United States and my father who actually knew better (this niqqa was a student of John Henrik Clark) wasn’t around, I felt as if I didn’t have anybody to protect me.

There are authors like Juwanza Kunjufu Who wrote a series of small book pamphlets called “the conspiracy to destroy black boys” back in the 80s. They used to sell these books and all the black bookstores in New York back. We had a thriving black book culture here. My wife and I ordered the books 12 years ago. I advice yall to do the same

I mean, this past election literally proved that to be true. Only time black men got acknowledged was to be chastised and brow beaten.
Black men aint doing themselves any favors, choosing shyt for brains voices to speak for us and placing blame at the feet of black women.

I have not been impressed with brehs since I was looking for leadership as a young man atrending the Million Man March and hearing nothing but “feel goods” for eight hours without us leaving with a single plan.

I remember the bolded happened to me in the fourth grade.

My fiancee and I own the book the red one. I didn't know it was a series.

My question is more so why are we being targeted for destruction? I mean racism yes. But why specifically black boys?

We have to be the leaders we desire to see. Because we saw what happened to the ones that came before us. Dead or discredited.
