I feel ya. Same for me. But I took the initiative to take the ball out of their hands. Got the gubment (Navy) to pay for my shyt. Delayed my admission for a year so I can get this Navy Scholly bread to pay for school by going to a Navy ROTC prep school. Granted I didnt' finish the program in school and had to pay them back, but I was in debt 80k coming out of school in '01. But the flip side is me doing that year at the prep school made me technically enlisted for a year which means I was an independent student applying for financial aid and shyt. The one area I fukked up on is not changing my state of residence to GA to get cheaper tuition rates...and not applying for food stamps!! I coulda been the fukkin king having BBQs and shyt off food stamp bread!!!!! Broke, poor, independent Veteran! I coulda been eating good Word to NORE!!! :why:
My oldest son didnt want to do it your way. :beli:

Most parents aren't saving a damn thing for their children's college education. I had to pay my own way like a ton of other people I know. And my college debt wasn't that bad back in the 2000's compared to now. It's insane how much tuition has increased compared to inflation.

Tuition is high as hell but there is also A LOT of money to help pay for school. That often gets lost in the messaging. I make too much money for my daughters to qualify for need based grants and the like. And the sad part a lot of kids at that age range ain't willing to go through the grind of applying for a bunch of different scholarships.

My oldest was lucky that she had damn near valedictorian level grades. She pissed me off because I was on her all the time about taking the standardized tests. She took the PSAT and was an academic scholar in two of the sections. When I was in school I qualified for the same and even just getting just an average for me SAT score (1300) I had full ride offers all over the country. Half of them I didn't qualify for because I was such a bad student so didn't meet GPA requirements. With her combo of grades and high standardized testing she likely would've had the same. Yet she refused to take those tests. Somehow she still went out and found enough money that she went to Howard (38K a year) and only owed like 2-3K a semester.

That's why it's important to preach education from an early age and stay on kids about their grades even in high school as it can open so many doors. And if the kid has work ethic there is money to be found to not make college such a financial burden.

EDIT: Part of the problem to is a lot of kids don't have mentors or family members that can give them this information. I lucked up in having an amazing guidance counselor he gave me a lot of game and pushed me. Hell he even woke up during the SATs cause I had worked until 3 the previous night and kept dozing off since the test was at like 6:30.

Bingo. Son is now the 4th on his mom side of the family since 97 to attend boarding school. Straight outta Brownsville. I had no clue on what it took to get there, as it was all their guidance. I feel fortunate

Also you can go to a community college your first year for a fraction of the price get a good gpa and transfer to a 4 year with a partial scholarship. You don’t have to go into thousands of dollars of debt your first year.

Preach.

You gotta be the one to show people in your family sometimes because many don't know.

Can you give a modern day real world example of the white man knocking a brother's fence over? A real life equivalency that the analogy would apply to.
I can.

So, in NYC, selling food or drink requires permits. The law is stringently enforced, and has been for 50 yrs (relevant). Yet migrants are selling food all over the city, even on the trains. The laws are not as stringently applied to them.

Fifty years ago, we had bm with skill and the ability to accumulate the necessary capital required for such a venture. Thirty years ago, those men were still in abundance. Ten- fifteen years ago, we still had enterprising teenagers selling Nutcrackers. All of these suffered from stringent enforcement of the law. Now that our skill, capital, and will has fallen, all of a sudden, people who don't even have all their vaccinations are allowed to cook tortillas in the street and sell them. We have letter grading for restaurants, bestowed by the NYC Board of Health. Apparently, none of that matters any more.

The entitlement is insane. But I promise you, the white people think its cute and "want to do more".

They do enjoy their slaves. That's how we got the 2nd ave train after all. Do you remember? They had an opening night event with shrimp cocktail and shyt, where the white folks and their housekeepers/ nannies acted like it was built for the city.

I refuse to buy candy from them on the train because they forced out the kids from around our way selling candy to help themselves.

Republican governors will continue to bus them here. Texas is about to put it in overdrive based on a new initiative they are rolling out

This, a lot of people look down on CCs but you get the same education for those first two years as you would at any other big school. I'd advise that for a lot of people just for the money you save alone.

Even more complex corporate jobs are being shipped overseas. They closed the New York office of my last employer and are pouring resources into the Philippines office, paying employees 1/15th of what we made.

I hope these corporations are ready to negotiate with Filipinos trying to get them to renew $345,000 deals. :scust:
I was saying simple as in it's simple. I'm fully aware complex jobs like software, and design jobs have been offshored. I've even heard Indians are getting replaced with LATAM and south east Asian's lmao. Evil world
