This really isn't as hard as you're making it. It's the 8PM cutoff that's the problem. They're saying all absentee votes need to be counted by 8PM. Those are usually the last to be counted, as day of/walk up votes take priority. Additionally, if they count ALL mail in ballots as absentee, that obviously poses a problem.

States really need to amend the laws so they can count absentee/mail in ballots as they come in vs. waiting to do so until election day. Think Michigan and Pennsylvania don't allow for the counting of absentees until the start of election day.

If he loses it's his own fault not mine. Almost everyone had no problem with Israel going after Hamas. It was when Israel bombed hospitals, safe zones, killed reporters, raped kids and prisoner , bombed schools and refugee camps along with calling Palestinians dogs. That's what we had problems with. Actions have consequences and if it leads to another Trump presidency we'll this won't be what caused it. Trump should be in prison right now but Merrick the Meek made sure to prevent that

There wasn't a cutoff previously. Again, they're not just talking about receiving votes, they're taking about putting a hard cutoff on when they'll count absentee ballots they already have in hand.

So, before, Georgia would take however long it took to count absentee and mail-in ballots. And since they ALSO changed rules so that those votes couldn't start being counted until election day, it lead to a disproportionate amount of votes for Biden coming in overnight, since in person day of votes were counted first. That's where all the "Stop the count" bullshyt came from.

So now, with this rule, combined with the fact that they still can't start counting your vote until election, AND there will be less machines available, and the play is nakedly obvious.

The bill also requires counties to report the results of all absentee ballots by an hour after polls close. It also lets counties use paper ballots in elections in which fewer than 5,000 people are registered, though that change will not take effect until 2025.
