Yep... almost everything has straight up done a 180, at least with polling and the dynamic of the race.
Like with debate 1 - the flash poll for the winner was 67% Trump/33% Biden. Debate 2 it was 67% Kamala, 33% Trump.

It's both a wild turn of events and completely logical. Trump only looked like a "decent" option next to Biden. (Not my opinion, just the consensus so to speak). Now virtually all of the liabilities that Biden showed, Trump is displaying, but worse.

Republicans really fukked up by nominating Trump in the primary. I wonder if Kamala was the Dem nomination before the R primary, if they would have still doubled down on Trump. Probably.

Part of me thinks Trump's grip on Rs will finally fade away after he takes this L, the other part of me thinks as long as he shows a pulse (literally) he can still somehow win the RNC primary in 2028... the party is that far gone. Will be interesting to see, just gotta get through November/ January first.

Yeah on the surface it would seem what would be the point of continuing to let Trump run the whole party when it will be a decade since he won anything, lost two presidential elections, almost all of his candidates lose. He’s basically sinking you’re party

But most republicans seem scared to death to challenge him. I don’t know if they think it’s career suicide or they fear for their safety if they go against him but he seems to have a spell over them

I think the challenge is also at this point are there enough old guard Regan Republicans left to go back or is the party now mostly MAGA?

I also agree with you that i think Trump would win another RNC primary if he ran again because his challengers are basically poor man’s copies of him

The only way to get him out is to basically do what the Dems did to Biden and cut off his donors but I don’t know if they’d do that

I think the best thing that could happen to Dems is that wheter or not Trump runs again that the MAGA brand continues to run the party

If Trump can’t win anymore I don’t see anyone in the MAGA wing of the Republican Party in the foreseeable future winning.

Upcoming CNN story has Robinson on defense - Business North Carolina

Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson is expected to go on CNN today to defend himself regarding a story the national network is preparing, which has contributed to rumors in some GOP circles about Robinson possibly dropping out of the race.

Williams described the CNN story as a “hit piece.” The reported story makes explosive allegations regarding statements the national network says Robinson made on an online message board in 2009, Williams says. Robinson did not hold elected office until 2021, after his successful campaign for lieutenant governor in 2020.

“The main ones I remember were that they were alleging he made some extremely racist comments about Martin Luther King, referred to himself as a Black Nazi and used antisemitic language referring to Jews,” Williams stated in the text message.

I could understand (even if I dont agree) not backing Kamala because you didnt hear enough on your biggest issue but the rest of that is nonsense. Wont back Kamala, but also wont back a 3rd party to boost Trumps chances is just laughable. Is that their way of saying vote for Kamala but we wont tell you to vote for Kamala? I need to see stats on how many candidates they've got up in this cycle. Canvassing has me so tired of dealing with people who only vote in presidential elections but are shocked when they dont have a local candidate that represents issues important to them
