Yeah, but people go to Youtube to see certain people and a certain type of content. Thats why the advertisers went there in the first place. Now they want to change the rules mid play. shyt is foul. If they don't want their ad on a certain person's page, just go elsewhere. Don't make a blanket system. Some advertisers may care about certain content or certain language while others may not. Youtube should do a better job at matching advertisers with the correct content. I'm sure there are enough ads and content providers to go around.yeah, but we've already seen the end product of that kind of situation. that's why you go to certain sites, and all the ads are for porn, or some kind of scam trying to install malware on your shyt
these youtubers have been enjoying that mainstream corporate money. but now they gotta play by the rules to keep getting it
a quick search says that 400 hours of video is uploaded every minute to youtubeThe thing about YouTube is they cheap out and let bots run their site. They try to manage the entire site in this hands off way that just leads to chaos and isn't a good way to run a site. They need actual people to manage the site and work with the creators.
Even Myspace fell. At one point it was one of the biggest sites on the internet and now it's nothing. YouTube can fall too and if they keep messing with their community they likely will.
I don't know the cut Google gets from Youtube but we can only go by whats reported I just seeing it like how Gaming companies lose money on consoles but make their money in different avenuesGoogle, like nfl/nba owners, wont open the actual books. Just like nfl/nba owners- they arent losing money, even though theyll claim it. These are all smart business owners, If they were losing money, theyd sell the product. Not ride it out for 20 years hoping one day itll turn a small profit.
Google bought YouTube at the begining of the app/tech bubble of today for a bargain price of $1.5 billion.
Its value estimated at $70-80 billion now.
If google was honestly losing money on it, all awhile paying hundreds of youtubers hundreds of thousands to millions a year, dont you think theyd sell it to facebook, apple or microsoft for a "measly" 60-70 billion profit profit - not revenue. PROFIT. If someone told you could make 60 billion profit in a day from 1 sale, youd do it, right? Unless the company is already making that or more
Lets use some rational thought here
That stopped in the 7th generation. Sony and Microsoft lost billions on the PS3 and Xbox 360 and in the 8th generation consoles were sold at a profit on day one.I just seeing it like how Gaming companies lose money on consoles but make their money in different avenues
yall act like youtube been the same forever. they been through all types of growing pains. they stripped the sound out of one of my uploads because of copyright issues. it wasn't so long ago that it wasn't something you could make money off ofNow they want to change the rules mid play. shyt is foul.
For the most part they really have been. And you were using someone else's content. They should have stripped the sound. They shouldn't stop your money flow just because Pepsi doesn't want to pay you. If there are other advertisers that are willing to pay you then allow them. If those advertisers bow out, then that's on you. But at least you have the opportunity. I don't mind them not paying out if an advertiser doesn't want to partner with you.yall act like youtube been the same forever. they been through all types of growing pains. they stripped the sound out of one of my uploads because of copyright issues. it wasn't so long ago that it wasn't something you could make money off of
dudes should consider themselves lucky that they were able to cake off that shyt. they still can, if they follow the new rules
I had that video up for like 2 years before that happened though. like someone already said, youtube used to be like the wild west. but things changed as they moved towards being more legit. and those changes are still happeningFor the most part they really have been. they even changed the rules on in video advertising.I had that video up for like 2 years before that happened though. like someone already said, youtube used to be like the wild west. but things changed as they moved towards being more legit. and those changes are still happening
you still have the option to upload (almost) whatever you want. and you can secure your own advertisers (basically put some "this is sponsored by audible.com..." segment in your video). but if you want to use their monetization system, you have to play by their rules
they want a cut. makes sense since they're hosting the videothey even changed the rules on in video advertising.
YouTube makes a move against brand-sponsored videos
being a big youtube star can be stressful man. im not saying its a 9 to 5 job stressful but they have their fair share of stress. they have to edit videos (which can take a while depending on how heavy they edit), deal with death threats, upload at least once every two weeks to get paid, do whatever is popular so they don't get irrelevant, and if one video goes down due to some fair use copyright bullshyt it could easily mean the end of your channel.fukk it, no hate but a lot of these youtube celebs been feeling themselves lately. Once they get a part time job this should humble them a lil bit
