The problem is who determines that advertisers don't wanna be aligned with the content? This isn't Imus in the morning where he calls basketball players nappy headed hoes and the advertisers themselves say we're done. This is an automated bot with no common sense going through the videos.
Youtube is already letting people upload their stuff, using their bandwidth free of charge, and for awhile letting anyway with the views get paid. All the while Google with losing money with the site
YouTube is losing money even though it has more than 1 billion viewers
If the uploaders are that concern about the money they can start a patreon if they think their subscribers would pay so they can continue

Google, like nfl/nba owners, wont open the actual books. Just like nfl/nba owners- they arent losing money, even though theyll claim it. These are all smart business owners, If they were losing money, theyd sell the product. Not ride it out for 20 years hoping one day itll turn a small profit.

Google bought YouTube at the begining of the app/tech bubble of today for a bargain price of $1.5 billion.

Its value estimated at $70-80 billion now.

If google was honestly losing money on it, all awhile paying hundreds of youtubers hundreds of thousands to millions a year, dont you think theyd sell it to facebook, apple or microsoft for a "measly" 60-70 billion profit :martin: profit - not revenue. PROFIT. If someone told you could make 60 billion profit in a day from 1 sale, youd do it, right? Unless the company is already making that or more :martin:

Lets use some rational thought here :martin:

Wonder when a competitor for YouTube will come about

Not gonna happen. The best chance was in Youtubes earlier days now it's too big and too late. Only possible competition for them is indirect ones like Vine or Snap or IG or Netflix, otherwise they got a monopoly on their brand of video streaming

Not really a surprise. Adsense has similar restrictions with websites.

Simple solution would be to filter ads based on tags, categories, and ratings. Let the advertisers decide what they want their ads ran on.

Some of these people were making more off YouTube than they could make working a regular job. I mean you making $60K+ a year making YouTube videos that's well above the common yearly pay in America. That's pretty close to making $30 an hour. Think about it where will you go to get a normal job making that kind of money?

The ugly truth is there was never a future in making YouTube videos though. At any point it could all come tumbling down. Then again with an normal job it's the same any day you could walk in to an announcement that there are layoffs.

This is why WWE fell off.... :francis: Youtube gonna have to learn the hard way...
YouTube is ripe for the picking. A big name company like Amazon or Microsoft or even Facebook at this point could step in and create a rival site and if they could pluck a few top dogs from YouTube they'd come crashing down. All they'd need to do is be more open and more reasonable than YouTube has been and there would be a mass exodus of content creators.

The content creators that produce content on YouTube only do so because they don't have a reasonable alternative option. If one was present is already no love lost so people would leave.

You see when YouTube makes these changes it never hits the big makers on the site just the lower and mid tier ones.

There's a ton of people that I hate that make a ton of money off their youtube videos. Now those people will be unemployed. This shyt is worth celebrating. They have to get real jobs now hahahahahha!
I bet you won't have a good response to this question, but why not?

How is being a youtuber not a real job? Do you realize how much time it takes to shoot, edit and upload videos?

The thing about YouTube is they cheap out and let bots run their site. They try to manage the entire site in this hands off way that just leads to chaos and isn't a good way to run a site. They need actual people to manage the site and work with the creators.

Even Myspace fell. At one point it was one of the biggest sites on the internet and now it's nothing. YouTube can fall too and if they keep messing with their community they likely will.
