808s is a classic even if I dont love it, its prolly the most influential album of last 20 years

You gave me another narrative thank you!

The quality of the album is the most important part of it's classic status, if it's not phenomenal at the very least then it isn't a classic, I don't care how influential it is. Rebirth brought a gang of rock star wanna bes into the game and that album was a pack of ass.

Good, not phenomenal. His albums before that were much better... quality wise it's number five and there's at least a whole mix difference, and it's evident. Four mic albums aren't classics

If we're talking solo artists yeah. If we're including groups, Kast discography>>>>> Kanye.

If you guys want to talk about discographies, guys like WC have a discography of albums that all are good. All aren't considered classics, but there isn't one WC album that I've ever heard anyone say, "that shyt is trash". Some aren't as good as others, but they are all consistent. . And

Biggie and Pac are the 2 consensus Goats.

Nas is hardly ever ranked above those 2. Only on the coli is that a popular take.

Not only did Biggie have 2 classic albums, he had classic feature after feature and bodied everything he was on, while also making Kim the hottest female rapper in the game.
Facts. Biggie at his best is better than everyone else at theirs. And the two album critique is a misleading because Biggie has 100s of songs/features. It’s not like those two albums are his only work. He has more than enough material to justify his GOAT status.

No one’s run was as dominant as Biggies on the East coast.

Rest in Peace to BIG, but X had an amazing run for his first two albums artistically and commercially

Rakim, BDK, KRS, Tribe's album 2 and 3 , EPMD 4 album run, PE albums 2 and 3

All had dominant runs and winning streaks where they could do no wrong.

Biggie had a dominant run where he released no bad singles or features.....not even mid....everything was fire..but so did other acts

If you said they're the GOATs, I wouldn't be mad. A lot of people have Rakim as the GOAT, Tribe as the GOAT group, EPMD as a GOAT group, etc...

I just personally feel Biggie's run of dominance was the best, and he was the nicest overall. That's why he's the GOAT to me. He was a 9-10 in almost every category imo. Wordplay, flow, delivery, voice, content, song structure, believability, storytelling, etc....

He's Jim Brown
