What’s the difference?

Singers are valued/rated because of their voices. We can hear someone sing their interpretation of a classic record and applaud their vocal talent.

Rap is based on lyrics ,flow, and delivery. It's understood or believed that you are saying your own lyrics.

This is simply not true and never has been

The facts say different. The greatest singers do covers of other people's songs either as singles or in concerts.

Outside of some exceptions, rappers haven't and don't do that.

It's the singer's interpretations of the song that makes their version different than the standard or original version. Vocal talent and/or range differences between singers.

Biggie and Pac are the 2 consensus Goats.

Nas is hardly ever ranked above those 2. Only on the coli is that a popular take.

Not only did Biggie have 2 classic albums, he had classic feature after feature and bodied everything he was on, while also making Kim the hottest female rapper in the game.
do you know what the word "consensus" means? I don't think anyone with a fully functioning brain that has a knowledge of hip hop history would claim Biggie is better than Rakim. It became the popular thing to say. if you would have asked someone if biggie was the greatest ever on March 8th, 1997, you would have been laughed off the scene. Why did that change 2 days later? As I told you, White people are infatuated with death and what white people say, black people follow. White people spread that same "Dilla is the goat" narrative after his death. Hell no. No rapper with 2 albums and a 4 year career can be considered a greatest of anything lol. Think for yourself . 2 albums. But no one is answering my question. If Nas dies after IWW, would be be the greatest? Chuck after Nation of Millions? This is what happens when we let kkkrakkkers into our artform.

The narrative that Method Man's debut album was good, but not as good as it could have been because RZA's home studio flooded, and they lost the original stuff they were working on.

RZA has an encyclopedia like knowledge and memory about music. Meth was THE breakout star of the group signed to the TOP label, Def Jam. Had RZA wanted to recreate the exact same records that were lost, he could have and he had the incentive to do so. They turned in an album that Def Jam was able to promote and sell, but was trash.
It's like the album that never existed, because it never comes up in discussions about the first batch of Wu solo projects.
Tical was in no way trash. lol. 13 tracks. Name the trash tracks. I don't remember no one in November, December of 94 and all of 95 claiming it was trash. Not one person. If you want to trash debut, that's the Fugees' debut. Salaam Remi saved their career with the "Nappy Heads" remix and then came the Vocab remixes. That album was truly horrible.

I had both tapes. The Blunted album is below the level of trash.

The Meth album, again, was highly anticipated from the clear star of the group on the heels of their classic group debut. Was a disappointment and was trash. Classic or even good albums flow as a complete work. Not as a collection of songs. Tical never flowed and seemed like a hodgepodge of collected songs.
The Meth hype was huge in that era, so others began to see that it was substandard as the full set of solo Wu projects came out, and as the Meth hype died down. Aga8n like I said, it's like the Wu album that never existed. Nobody ever brings it up.

Bring the Pain and Meth vs Chef were my favorite songs on the album......everything else is forgettable
you obviously have poor taste lol. You say an album is bad, but don't remember any bad songs. You say you had the 'TAPE" and bring the pain was #3 while Meth vs Chef was #6 on the album(I had the cd). So you went thru 6 songs on a tape(that you said you had. u didn't say you had the cd) and only remember 2. So that means you didn't play the b-side? And you don't remember Release yo delf(single), PLO Style(b side to Bring the pain single), or the all I need regular version? You don't remember the Sandman posse cut and Carlton Fisk. street life, and Deck's verses? I'm not saying you're lying, but something about this story isn't adding up..

I’ll tell you one I don’t like:

“Hip-Hop is a young man’s game”

Another ignorant narrative is "I'm a product of my environment, and I cannot control myself" into a way to conform to stereotypes of being black in the hood. That is why you got millions of Tupac clones, without the socially conscious elements or black pride.

Are you arguing about my opinion of music?
You're asking me questions and then not satisfied with my answers. Why would I know or care about the sequence order for an album I haven't listened to in over 20 years??
shyt was TRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!
