What I don't get is, if you were able to retain parts of your culture or all of it, why is bleaching being done in the caribbean, and parts Africa?

Why is there still colorism? Why are they still christians, and strong ones at that?

To me, every black person who says they kept their culture are way worse then black americans, because you have reasons to not buy into white supremacy, but you still do?

Now that I'm thinking about it, that makes me think they may be more dangerous to us, because they are willingly going against us, by taking on a specific mind state, yet they have no choice but to live around us, and smile:troll:, but with some, they have no connection with us. This makes it easy to not care when shyt happens to us, and to come up then just hire your own if you decide who gets a job at a certain company.

I never even thought about this until now!:ohhh:

I wonder how the people who don't feel this way about black americans, deal with family, and friends, who do?
All of this applies to Africans so what’s your point :stopitslime:

I just explained to you:what:

"What I don't get is, if you were able to retain parts of your culture or all of it, why is bleaching being done in the caribbean, and parts Africa?

To add to that, if you are from a majority black country, you should have even less reason to allow white supremacy to creep into your everyday life. I can understand playing a game to get money, as its a global economy, but when it comes to the average person, what is their reasoning? They barely see any white people to appease!

Them Lo Lifes...
AAs in America are practically the only "race" who has been b*stardized by their own heritage.

AA's culture is just THAT, American.

Unless you can wholly trace your linage to a specific tribe/culture in Africa.

How can one exactly get in tune with their culture, when a majority of AA's can even pinpoint their origins to identify with said culture.

Shyt reminds me of those ancestry commercials, when a muthafugga been told he was and identified with being Irish his whole life, to find out he's a majority German..

As I'm thinking more, what good is having a culture if that culture doesn't protect you from your enemy infiltrating the minds of the people to think like them?

It seems to me the culture that blacks have all over the world, has done nothing to protect them, if they still take on white supremacists thinking.

is it safe to say we are bullshytting ourselves?

Or does culture keep us from going insane. I know for black american, the arts kept us sane because we were basically at war in our own house.

It seems white culture keeps them with a sense of superiority or at least well being.

So I ask, what does African/Caribbean culture do if they are in a all black country, yet still have the thinking of white supremacists when it comes to how they see whites, and other blacks?

Just a question, don't get emotional, and start attacking me!

Food and music isn't culture...

And we are already know who we are...

That's thing....

I ain't confused about who I am...

I have no desire to look towards Africa

I don't need to put on a daishiki

I don't feel the need to think food and music is what defines me...I do not point to celebrities and food dishes to signify my African Americanness...that's stupid...

No Nigerian man is gonna give you some Fufu and say this defines me...

The fact that when people think of African Americans and think about fried chicken and collard greens is offensive as fukk...so no...food doesn't fine me...

I have my cultural heroes...I got David Walker, Frederick Douglass, WEB Dubois, Alain Locke..they tell me who I am and where I come from...and people can go read what they wrote and what they said and what they did and get the entire meaning of what it means to be an African American...

That's the point of culture...

And you are annoying as fukk...you always defenisive like a hoe on the block..

Always being passive aggressive like a bytch...
If you already knew who we are you’d have no need to feel like we should have our own Confusius, Plato, or Aristotle.

At the end of the day culture encompasses everything about a group of people. This includes food and music. Our stories as “intellectuals” in this country is still being written.

And how the fukk am I passive aggressive when I quote your bytch ass and call you out every single time your white ass tries to speak on black issues?

Music was literally for survival, one of the few ways of getting out of slavery was that. Before Elvis and zep and all that shyt, we taught their children music and mastered western instruments easily and created new instruments from African and western ones.

There is a reason why a lot of brehs go into music, genetics and it is still seen as a way to become a free man.

Blues has its roots in slave chants and pain.
Which is why it’s crazy to me that someone can say music isn’t culture

I definitely get what you're saying. That is something to think about.

For instance, in the Black Panther Demonize Thread - the guy in the video said weaves and wigs are associated with AA/Black women - but I see and know that a whole lot of non-AA/African women rocking weaves/wigs in America and in different African countries.

So why is that placed on Black American women. Black women from America also kicked off the Natural Hair movement - and we also seen a major decline in perms/relaxers and wigs/weaves.

These tweets are the perfect example of blacks using culture to feel good about themselves, but does the actual culture do anything besides that?

If we are attacking each other, and we both know we come from the same areas, just have different stories, is the culture really doing something of substance?

Exactly!

It seems that black americans are the scapegoats of blacks all over the world, and the only reason that is, is because whites in America have been attacking us.

All black foreigners are doing is going along with what has been done before them, which is what makes me ask, what good is a culture if it allows you to think like someone who is your enemy?

I would still like to understand what is said "African" culture? Because all the things that make up a Culture - AA/Black Americans have as well. It's separate and unique.
