That lost season is looking more and more like a turning point in his career--->fir the worst. He was on his way to being an All-Time great...
Wouldn't have made him better. The division's not as rough as the North but still...Shoulda stayed in Houston. He's trash on the Browns.
Come on bro, could I really predict him losing two years of his career because he has a predatory happy ending fetish?
He had 11 games last season, a full off-season, and a half dozen games now. He's essentially had more or less a full season post-Rubgate of a sample size.Come on bro, could I really predict him losing two years of his career because he has a predatory happy ending fetish?let's not act like I was just wrong and nothing happened...
He only played 6 games last year. So he's only played 10 games since his last game as a Texan on January 3, 2021. That was the 2020 season...He had 11 games last season, a full off-season, and a half dozen games now. He's essentially had more or less a full season post-Rubgate of a sample size.
If he was a Pantheon QB he'd look it this season. If he finishes 2023 looking the exact same he's done as an elite guy.
My thing is, players have come back from injuries, though, something that literally broke on them and physically changed them, and returned to form, rust period or not.He only played 6 games last year. It's almost November 3, 2023, and he's already out this weekend. The earliest he'll be back is November 5. So in the last 34 calendar months, he's played 10 football games, that's damn near 3 years...
So when you realize he's only played 10 games in the last almost 3 years, the rust factor is understandable. He hasn't played a season's worth of games yet...
But what I will say, is his run as an elite quarterback is over. Taking 1¾ seasons off from playing in the middle of your prime and coming back elite is unprecedented. Vick had a strong bounce back season after missing two full years, but it took until his second season back to catch that second wind, and it was over after that...
So Deshaun's run is done, he'll never be who he previously was, and he has no one to blame other than himself. It is what it is...
'20 Watson wasn't the anomaly because he'd been That Guy from the door, he walked in The League setting rookie passing records..My thing is, players have come back from injuries, though, something that literally broke on them and physically changed them, and returned to form, rust period or not.
'20 Watson might have been an anomaly even without the happy endings.
Cam Newton also walked in the door with a record rookie season...then he had some regressive/plateau seasons...then an MVP season...then mid seasons and a fall off.'20 Watson wasn't the anomaly because he'd been That Guy from the door, he walked in The League setting rookie passing records..
Nothing about his early career was an anomaly. I think this is as simple as, man fukked himself off of nearly two full years if his prime, + has now become kinda injury prone. The old him is gone abd isn't coming back because of those two factors. The old him was real, nothing fluky about it. But it's gone and over and done with...
I really think it's as simple as that...
