I agree, dude was impossible to hold his first couple years. He would turn busted plays into DHop jump ball td’s ROUTINELY. Dude was electric, plain and simple. If his receivers were locked up he’s getting an automatic 5-8 yards by himself to convert a 2nd or 3rd and short to keep moving the ball.'20 Watson wasn't the anomaly because he'd been That Guy from the door, he walked in The League setting rookie passing records..
Nothing about his early career was an anomaly. I think this is as simple as, man fukked himself off of nearly two full years if his prime, + has now become kinda injury prone. The old him is gone abd isn't coming back because of those two factors. The old him was real, nothing fluky about it. But it's gone and over and done with...
I really think it's as simple as that...
As a Texans fan I did, but not in the way you think. His early years he carried from college being able to “out athlete” everyone because nobody possessed his speed or timing. He got into the league trying to do the exact same thing and wouldn’t give up on ANY play just trying to scramble and keep it alive to stay looking downfield for a chunk play. He took a shyt ton of sacks doing that and kept it up till around year 3 when it seemed like he had somewhat of a better feel for the pocket but would still run at the first sign of trouble. I predicted he wouldn’t ever develop into a true pocket passer that was a dual run threat (Mahomes, early Russ) but then he decided to derail his career with butt hole non senseMahomes might fukk round and not have an actual rival. Be like Undertaker or that one racist bald guy and have the monster of the week put up against him. Allen and Burrow now. Then Caleb. In 5 years "Will Arch Manning be Mahomes rival?"
That said its wild what happened with Watson. Homey hit the sweetheart to villian flip harder than anyone not named Cosby or Orenthal. And now he looking washed at what...28? Nobody saw this shyt coming
To me, this upcoming season is the last gasp at finding out if the old him is anywhere inside of him. My guess is it isn't, he missed a full season, then missed 11 games each of the next two seasons...Not bumping the thread to knock OP.
However, just more disappointed. All these Mahomes/Allen are the new Brady/Mahomes takes. Or Burrow is Big Ben or should be Peyton, etc etc.
Watson was on a shytty team but was better than both guys in 2020 and would have been seen that way as well heading into 2021.. Just a damn shame whats happened to Deshaun and how he's not apart of these convos.
I remember when Deshaun was putting up outrageous number his rookie year before tearing his ACL.To me, this upcoming season is the last gasp at finding out if the old him is anywhere inside of him. My guess is it isn't, he missed a full season, then missed 11 games each of the next two seasons...
By the time Wk1 2024 rolls around, he's played in a total of 12 games, of a possible 51, in the prior 3 years. Missing 76% of possible games in your athletic prime I think takes something from you, and I'm not blaming anyone other than Deshaun himself, but this is why I think the old him is gone. And, this upcoming season will probably be his last chance to prove he's a viable starter...
All these other guys have passed him and he was right there with Mahomes at the beginning...
Didnt Deshaun and Texans have Mahomes down 24-0 in the first half and Mahomes and Chiefs ended up having the lead going into halftime. Final score 51-31 right? January 12 2020 right? yall boys gotta stop the nonsenseNot bumping the thread to knock OP.

Yes. If it wasnt clear the guys I was referring to were Burrow and Allen.Didnt Deshaun and Texans have Mahomes down 24-0 in the first half and Mahomes and Chiefs ended up having the lead going into halftime. Final score 51-31 right? January 12 2020 right? yall boys gotta stop the nonsense![]()
Aight my bad bro. Yea I had Deshaun at #2 as well.Yes. If it wasnt clear the guys I was referring to were Burrow and Allen.
Mahomes is the constant. Even after the 4 win season in 2020 people considered him as the 2nd best young QB in the league.
The stadium and chiefs sidelined were absolutely shocked we came to play ball that day.Didnt Deshaun and Texans have Mahomes down 24-0 in the first half and Mahomes and Chiefs ended up having the lead going into halftime. Damn you the bro butI'm absolutely flabbergasted that most people can't see past the surface. Watson is the better player and will prove it for the next 10-15 years. There is a different magic to him, like Mahomes I see all the sizzle, but you don't feel the magic. Chiefs were down with half a quarter left and you don't get this sense that if Mahones has the ball last it's over...
Texans are down, you typically always have the impression Watson can win the game. That drive for the winning score, especially the way they moved the ball today, you just know Deshaun gonna win it...
It wasn't either of their best games but I'm shocked more people can't feel the difference between the two...
By the time his career is over he's gonna be on that GOAT tier, there's something different about this one!
Hey, I can eat crow, I spoke too prematurely about today's game and I deserve that...
Watson is still better and is gonna be better when it's all said and done, today's game doesn't change my mind. One has Andy Reid and one has Bill O'Brien...
Deshaun is still Young Jordan and that'll bear out over his career. Jordan didn't win his first ring until Year 8, and didn't win a ring until he had the right coach and system and supplemental pieces in place, but you knew he was a problem before then...
This is just the end of Year 3, when Deshaun has the coach and cast The League will be in trouble...
