Victor Wembanyama is playing away from the basket, and I am concerned.

They gonna need to learn fast what Minnesota didn't understand with KAT, and what teams also learned with Porzingis and make him a 4 and get a true dirty work 5. Don't assume he'll grow into a 5, it may never happen

These are excuses. He played just fine in the paint last season doing dirty work

He’s just imbalanced right now & the Spurs are enabling it

They also were a horrible team tanking last season as well

You only get so many years to start looking like a serious team when you get a player like this

I want to be clear, because it occured to me that this thread will likely be upped any time Wemby has a bad game.

I am not saying that I think Wemby is a bust.

I just wonder if his apparent willingness to play away from the basket is good for him and good for the Spurs.

How much of this is a conscious decision to develop that part of his game, and how much of this is Wemby being passive or bullied by defenders?

It is true that Wemby having the potential to score from anywhere is the key to his ceiling. So in that sense perhaps we have to accept these growing pains. But I wanted to ask the question anyway.

The novelty of him wore off quickly

For a guy who was one of the most hyped athletes ever, he’s become completely irrelevant
its not an evaluation of his game.. im talking about the buzz and hype around is ovef

Nobody cares anymore
Except you think the NBA is irrelevant as a league, so why make such a redundant remark about nobody caring about Wemby, when you've already stated that nobody cares about the league, as a whole?

He has the 4th highest-selling jersey in the league, and yet here you are trying to paint a picture of him being "completely irrelevant".

Nobody is buying the trolling you're selling out your trunk.
