I mean... no shyt :dead:

However I disagree with your conclusion that this is a problem. Not everyone wants the same life.

I can declare that its a "problem" that engineering roles are devoid of women but whose to say its actually an issue or not?

Maybe women dont wanna be engineers.

Maybe men don't wanna work 9-5 and get masters degrees.

I make a fairly decent amount of money and I dont have my masters degree:yeshrug:

I promise i make more than the vast majority of the people you are referring to :yeshrug:
Something that gets forgotten way too often on this site.

If these degrees mean paper how come our banks are barely holding on, we trail in economic standing and we are shifted around the country at the whim of honkies?

Because White people have a 600 year head start...they got slave owner money, we got slave money...wealth and status is passed down generation to generation...it doesn't just evaporates

Cash don't mean shyt if you ain't got no wealth...White people walking around with high school diplomas with more wealth than Black folks with a Masters...

And Black men and women are paid less than every other demographic...Black men make less money than American women on average

Just having a degree means you ain't 34 making 15 an hour talking about it's good money

:francis:

People with Master's degrees make over 2 million dollars over their lifetime...

People with a high school diploma make 1.5 million

Choose wisely brehs...

And yes to piggy back on the subject on avg in america all women are out pacing men getting degrees and going to college.

Second of all a degree does not equal a job or a high paying job. The field, degree and location has more to do with that.

Last it can't be stated enough. Men and women view work and jobs differently. I got a BS and 2 MS. And trust if tomorrow a fool would pay me 400k to be a janitor I would quit my job tomorrow fukk this education. Cause like most men it ain't the job but what they paying to do the job.

Women are not wired like that. Their mind set is the job and how they enjoy it. So for a woman.....her mind set might be fukk this I want to get a job so I can work in an office and out the environment so I am going to get this degree.

Where as a man might say fukk an office setting this truck driving gonna pay me 100k plus without a damn degree....so fukk school.

Black men are in an interesting place, there is both an internal anti-educationalist idea that exists in the Black community and targets Black men much more potently than it attacks Black men, and this is outside of the general anti-intellectualism of the American culture as a whole.

I disagree with this. I think with us black men it maybe more about survival than a cultural anti-education mindset.

* Because most black men ( not all) grow up in a lower income area, when we graduate high school there’s usually a decision to be made, should I go to college? or should I work so I can provide? Men ( whether black or white) are always told they should be providers (mostly financially) so the decision is now

-Should I pay 30k ( the average student debt load) for something that can help me LATER ON.

-Or take this 8-hour and 16-hour security, OSHA, construction course and provide for immediately?

While the college graduate will eventually make more money later on, the temporary financial relief these black men can provide right now maybe too good to pass up. Remember .... Poverty not only makes you financially insecure, it adds stress, increases the chances of violent interactions and increases the chances of depression (I like to use a rap quote to sum this up)

“I started off less than broke how am I suppose to survive, Momma said the rent due, how am I suppose to provide? Motions replied tears fall from both of my eyes, This when they put that pressure on you, gotta go and reply
Can't lower my pride
I filled out applications, waiting for a call back
They just had me waiting, thoughts marinated like
Will I ever get out this hell hole? Who the hell knows.
-Don Q ( Still feel me)

^^ I believe this mentality is way more prevalent than a form of anti -intellectualism that unfairly gets labeled on black men.

women value the status attached to education more than men do. it's why there is friction when blue collar dudes and white collar women date, because even tho he makes more money and has no debt, she still feels above him because she has the hifulatin title (VP of psyops marketing) and he's "just a plumber"

At the end of the day, life is a competition and a zero sum game...

You can try to "live your life" if you want to...but you gonna get squashed, used and abused by those that decided to play the game.
We all have our own way of seeing the world...to each his own and all that.
I know ruthlessly competitive people who are absolutely miserable earning 6 figures and less competitive people happy driving a delivery route :yeshrug:

And the reverse exists as well...competitive, striving people who couldn't be happier with life and folks working the drive-thru 2 bad customers from eating a bullet :yeshrug:

Not really for me to say what route is "better"...just hope people find whatever they're looking for

Every company I've worked for, I see more BM in leadership positions than BW.

There are more rank and file BW, but as far as Managers/Directors/VP's it's been more brothers.
I think this is pretty industry-specific - not just for BM/BW in leadership positions, but men and women in general.

In healthcare, education, local/state/federal government, etc. there's likely more BW in leadership positions.

In FIRE, law enforcement, manufacturing, heavy industry...probably more BM.

But blue check twitter said black men have it better than black women.:ohhh: who do I believe. They told me black men have better jobs at a higher rate and are more successful than black women. They use words like Misogynoir and patriarchy . are you telling me they lied?
