People with Master's Degrees tend to be in supervisory or managerial positions. In other words, leadership positions. Or even put another way, positions where they lead other people.

But I'm sure you knew that already. :sas2:

I've rarely had a supervisor/manager with an advanced degree, RARELY

nowadays that's usually in research or academics...public sector mostly

OP is certainly right.

In my premed summer research program last year, there were only 4 black people out of 20 accepted and enrolled into the program. I was the only black male out of those four in it. The 3 black women were all Africans and one Haitian.

I ate through that whole summer. We all partnered up for our cancer project :whew:

So you ate all 3? And they knew about it?

This hasn't always been the case and it is even worse for Black women...

Educated Black women are more likely to marry down than any other demographic of women...if they marry at all...

---------------------------------------------
BTW...

Black women been ahead of Black men since the 90s...and it's even increased moreso...

American DOS men are really really behind...

Get you an education brehs...
First...what is considered dating down? BM outearn BW and there are way more black men who earn over 100,000 a yr than BW, we also carry far less debt than them.

Second, no other group has been as systematically targeted as AA Men. The fact that we're doing as well as we are now is a testament to our inherent strength and greatness.

Also, when will people stop associating degrees with success or intelligence. Or are we acting as if half the people we went to school with weren't retarded?:comeon:

Why though?

Yes this seems to be the case, but how did we get here?

Here’s what black boys are being driven to (marketing, music, guidance, etc.) focus on at a young age:

Who cares...a master in social work and a plumber mAke the same money on average..so a masters degree means nothing. This is coming from someone in a c.s masters program.

It's only an issue of the men not pursuing masters degree are not learning a money making trade and are just sitting on their asses being lazy.

This thread does make me wonder about something tho....I've recently read some Black feminist scholarship and research (It was interesting sue me:yeshrug:) that found that BM, in particular AA Black men were by far the most progressive group of men and even more progressive and accepting of certain feminist ideals then women. This is interesting because even with this understanding we are the face of toxic masculinity. We are also doing the worse out of other races/ethnic groups of men. Which makes me wonder if patriarchy isn't the problem and perhaps we're not being patriarchal enough?:jbhmm:
