Unpopular observation; Black women surpassed Black men on a professional level.

This bothers me a bit, black women arent getting paid nearly what they could/should be. Theres alot of factors but i think part of it is getting used to not expecting much.

My fiance has an MPH.

She makes 80k-85k, which is... ok... but she thinks that its alot. In her defense she was making 42k before she graduated so in her mind its like double.

But i told her its not really all that great because when we did a glassdoor of where she worked, her peers were making 99k-116k. And many didnt have their masters.

It was eye opening to her.


Part of the reason we get paid so little is that we have no frame of reference of how much we should be paid. A project manager with her masters and lean 6 sigma should be making 6figures period.

Even on the coli we act like its impossible to make 6 figures if you arent a doctor or lawyer


I love how black women are hustling on the academic side, i truly do

but i feel like they arent demanding the amount of money that should come with those titles.

Idk what numbers are where you live but in MD there are ruffly 30,000 men incarcerated, the largest portion of which are black.

By comparison there are only about 1000 woman of all races incarcerated.

Breh, I thought i was rich making 50k out of Vanderbilt as a dev. Till i learned that other Vanderbilt engineers were making 80k and more out of college

Black women face misogyny at work and hiring as well as racism.
They also deal w/ the vestiges of the US apartheid state environment, education is an absolute necessity.

Black men are in an interesting place, there is both an internal anti-educationalist idea that exists in the Black community and targets Black men much more potently than it attacks Black women, and this is outside of the general anti-intellectualism of the American culture as a whole.

With prison, street life, and poverty also acting as pretty well known barriers, this makes perfect sense.

Hopefully I'm in before the local dumbass posters start trying to frame this as Black women having "privilege" or some BS
