The reason I started paying attention to Izzy was seeing a bunch of MMA fans say he was the greatest MMA striker ever over Spider. Son is nice but didnt' have the finishes of Spider for anybody to claim that.

Andersons silva was a much more talented fighter and striker.

izzy is just really good at using his size and reach, but over all his boxing is kinda trash.

So...does Izzy have a serviceable ground game [mainly in regards to submissions]? Apparently, he's lethal on his feet, but if he's scared to let shyt rip because of his opponent's power, shouldn't he have, idk, went for a submission when he had him tired in round 4?

If he's bad on the ground as well, then how the fukk was he champion? Is the rest of the division that bad?

When you consider Izzy's non existent ground game he actually overchieved in the UFC.

Man came into the UFC at the picture perfect time; the high level grapplers like Weedman and Rockhold fell off a cliff into the shadow realm as soon as he started climbing the ranks while the actual "Olympic" wrassler in the division was pushing 40 and is conveniently a complete headcase who'd rather throw spinning backfists and flying knees than try to take someone down
