On one hand this sucks because they're trying to treat federal employees like they're in the private sector. Most people work public sector jobs for stability...we take the lower pay because of job security and decent benefits.

On the other hand working in the public sector is not that difficult. I already knew that anyone working from home would be asked to come back eventually. A lot of folks have set up their lives around working from home. It's an easy bait and switch for the people in the charge

Ain't no silver lining in this shyt. Federal work is a guaranteed retirement check if you reach your time. Seemingly, the only ppl this MAY benefit is folks in the verge of retiring anyway. (I'll have to read about this shyt more)

Now, imagine if the admin tries to fukk with federal retirement like they're meddling in these other well-established, beneficial programs :whoa:

Yea I would need to see the fine print. My lady is a government employee so it will have to be something we have to think about.

But she just made a good point. The private and state government job market in the dc area is gonna be competitive as fukk.
As it should be. That's the point. To many average ass ppl making above average money in the fed govt. If u work ur ass off ull be aite. If u coasting like alot of these fed employees do then ups is hiring type shyt...

I was hired as remote. My contract says as much also. Yet I got an email telling me to go into an office that I technically don't have. I have sites that I visit but the home office of our department is an hour and a half away.

IF YOU GOT HIRED AS A REMOTE WORKER
THATS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT
AND I DONT AGREE WITH THEM
SWITCHING IT UP AT ALL.

Try to fire/push out one of the most hard to get rid of workforce in the country brehs. Especially after you just had a day like yesterday where people found out how much shyt government actually covers.

I feel you. Apparently they don't have space for all of the people hired and are still understaffed so I don't understand this need to streamline things even more.

So I’ve read it’s not even a buyout… it’s literally “we’ll let you keep working remote from home until Sept then you’re done”

There's paid administrative leave in there but they give themselves an out. It even says if you choose to stay there's no guarantee of a job for you after they assess all the departments.

Next step is a government shutdown for several weeks to make people leave..

Which happened during Trump's 1st run

Longest shutdown in history ends after Trump relents on wallPoliticohttps://www.politico.com › story › 2019/01/25 › trump...
I 100% believe he will shut down the govt. this time more than 35 days, wouldn't surprise me if he tried to stretch it to 50 days.

This is what Trump does, he causes chaos simply because he can, he likes to leave his mark on people.

Its like someone putting a hot piece of metal on someone else's skin simply to leave a mark.
