This is basically a trick to get people to quit since it’s hard to fire federal workers, many of whom are unionized. They want people to quit and probably get rid of their pensions n so forth. Not to mention some trick rug pull if people do accept. Also that 6% star is pure bulllshytttt

Sounds like they just trying to get as many out of the way, so they get less pushback for whatever they gonna do.

Yea I would need to see the fine print. My lady is a government employee so it will have to be something we have to think about.

But she just made a good point. The private and state government job market in the dc area is gonna be competitive as fukk.

Yeah, if I'm in a government job, the potential for long-term unemployment is too high. Especially if the area is gonna be MAGA-leaning for hiring.

Why do ya'll believe this?

It's not hard. It's just expensive to recruit and train replacements as a lot of federal agencies are funded like shyt if it ain't related to the military.
You can't fire a federal employee for just any reason. It has to be for performance related reasons and that takes months of accumulated paper trail. Not to mention a lot of them are bargaining units there's another layer of protection above that. Even if they do a reduction in force. That takes months of planning and figuring out the restructure and reorganizing before you even let people go. This is literally they're cop out to tell their base they did something lol

Its shyt show already. Agencies have no idea what to do. They are waiting for guidance that isn't coming yet. they are telling our probationary people that they might get let go, but we also have an exemption to keep hiring new people. :wtf: Why would you let someone go who just got trained up only to fire them and hire someone new?

Wouldn’t last that long

The last long shutdown ended with the quickness due to a handful of east coast controllers calling in sick on a random day and flights we’re MASSIVELY delayed

I don’t think people understand how it really only takes like 10-20 controllers can literally fuk up the entire national airspace

Like literally in my facility we have 2 people on my shift who are going through medical shyt and can’t work and it has far reaching consequences. Short staffed and below numbers, so planes gotta be sequenced and moved around our area. Lots of OT so that means other days of the week have controller burnout which means low staffing on other days which turns into a cycle of low staffing

TMU has to balance and not over saturate the other sectors so that means your plane has to wait in line longer. Doesn’t matter if you’re a billionaire. You wanna get to LA or JFK? Gonna need an IFR flight plan and wait in line like everyone else

Yeap they were planning to do it this last Christmas again. The government messed themselves over when they made it a law that furloughed employees are guaranteed back pay. Now if the gov shuts down people will just call in sick and still keep their leave and pay. Why wouldn't they lol. Folks are in for a ride awakening if a shut down happens

lol yuppp

the talk of “free leave!!” is essentially all anyone at my facility talks about when government shutdown gets brought up

Any government employee who does it, I got no issues

They'll make these jobs so onerous people will quit. I saw them do this to Federal contractors during sequestration in Obama's first term. I don't think Government workers are ready for that kind of pressure. Got most of us out the paint in record time.

Federal contractors about to eat big time. I foresee a huge salary markup for contractors replacing Feds.
:jbhmm:

Yes, don the con has said many times he wants to privatize the federal government. It'll be nothing but contractors if he has his way
It's wild. I make 55HR+ as a contractor. I can do the same job as an E5 easily, but somehow it's wiser and more cost effective to have a contractor do it. Probably because of the benefits. Plus, it's hard to rotate units in and out of OCONUS positions when you can have contractors do it instead.
:manny:
Defense contracting overseas is probably a different beast compared to stateside gov't work. I try to understand it as a taxpayer and Reservist. I benefit from it as a contractor. I'm conflicted.

They need to offer early retirements. If they offered that plus years to get up to 57 and the social security supplemental. I'd seriously consider it
Well you want it which is why they won't do it. They want maximum pain and suffering not to have an effective transition or whatever.

Who was that one delusional, clown ass nígga who said that the democrats have been too quiet?
Notice he is IN the senate doing his job. If Democrats are not on the news talking shyt, they are doing nothing.

Oh wait, if they are on the news talking shyt, why aren't they doing their jobs?

I know people don't have time to do it all day, but you can literally watch Senate and House hearings. They are publicly streamed! :bryan:

Democrats release press and have aides do things but people don't pay attention and just assume they are doing nothing. If you rely on the news to tell you everything, you will not see it. If you rely on social media to be informed, you will be gaslit by the algorithms. Dudes have all the opinions and none of the knowledge.

Popple gonna except the buyout thinking they are set...then 2 weeks before the payout will take place there will be some "controversy" that's preventing it. Likely they will try to fund it with some bs legislation they know won't get passed then blame the dems. These sad folks gonna wait atleast 2 years or so before getting paid anything if they do at all

Trump has a long history of not paying people... he'll use presidential immunity to say I don't owe them a thing
