my baby brother spent five years at Texas Southern University. Got a degree in poly sci. he's a special needs p e teacher. That what his degree got him.
my mom spent more than a decade effing with Devry, she unemployed.
my baby brothers father got an English degree from Stanford, did 20 years baggage claim at the airport and retired. Did he need to sit in a lecture hall, write all those term papers, just carry still white ppl bags like it was the 1920s.

Nah, you just have to do research. Some degrees guarantee a job write out of school.
For profit schools like DeVry aren’t good, they prey on low income people who don’t know better. Liberal arts degrees like English, psychology, sociology, etc are useless.

Back in the day a sociology or economics degree would open doors as long as you were willing to work your ass off once inside.

And deadass, a degree from Stanford would open hella doors back in the day, way better than a baggage handler.

A professor at a higher end college prepatory academy is bare minimum.

This is actually my field…do you know what a NGO is? You speak as if that’s their ONLY function.

They do a ton more than immigration; as one would expect, the US doesn’t do ANYTHING that’s not for personal gain. So foreign aide isn’t some benevolent act, we aid poor countries bc if we don’t it will lead to disease and famine ….and that leads to instability and crime….and that leads to corruption and dictators with power….and that leads to Putins and Idi Amins and ISIS….and that leads to global fukkery….and that becomes a national security threat

Foreign aide is an easy way to ‘bird feed’ harmless countries and get out ahead of it so they don’t become rogue states. You take the aide away and it creates global chaos and eventually it will blow back on us

We need more black people in healthcare, in law, in STEM, etc., so the last thing we need to do is discourage people from going to school. Maybe they go to school, it doesn't work out and they get saddled with debt, but you don't get anywhere meaningful in life without taking some kind of risk.
