If Black people were really serious about voting than they would be fighting like hell to eradicate the electoral college to make sure those Black votes count. And if they were serious they'd be out there right now fighting the gerrymandering and redistricting that's gonna be taking place while things are quiet. Same shyt every election cycle and all we do is sit around helpless and cry about it.

local elections are important though

Democracy at work :yeshrug:

Its "the will of the people" and we just gonna have to come to terms with the fact that this country is filled with people who support, are apathetic, or apologetic to racism.

You have arabs, indians, east asians, latinos as well as a sizeable portion of the foreign (and domestic) black community immigrating in droves and supporting white supremacy. Add that up with the racist cacs already here and you should already know what it is numerically.

Black folk rely too heavily on "sometimes racist", the white people that like to pick and choose when they decide to become bigots. The same white people who voted for Obama "for change" are the same ones who voted for Trump saying Make America Great Again. White people are never held responsible for anything so they have no kind of conviction or accountability in their votes. Trying to turn these people into "allies" every election season is like playing Russian Roulette and quite frankly, Im sick of these demonic crackers.

It's a fair question to ask, in general:
  • why black men didn't vote in the same percentages as black women.
  • why black men and black women voted different
  • why only a fraction of black people voted at all
Assuming those midterm polls were correct, it is quite relevant to ask and know why 16% of black men voted for Cruz and 18% of black women voted for DeSantis.

Not fair questions just nitpickery.

Who cares the vote wasn't 100%? These questions sound like folks are disappointed they didn't get all the black vote even though it's the best demo voting for them and they don't deserve it. Roland needs to save his complaining ass remarks for the other groups.

Not really. To solve a problem, you need to address it.

Who cares the vote wasn't 100%?

If you're wondering why no one is voting, then it makes sense to care.

Those questions have to be asked if they want to get people to vote. Just saying, "oh well, that happened" isn't solving anything and won't solve anything. You have to figure what the problem is to solve it. Those questions start that process.

Focusing on black men and black women is diverting focus away from the other groups who could have definitely done more. With +80 and +90% votes black people did more than enough.

Breh you realize all this happens as a result of who we elect right??? It's actually much more difficult to change this out of cycle than it is to change it during the electoral process. I agree though, the current districting that dilutes the black vote is pathetic, but that's why we can't let these people keep winning out of frustration with the way things currently are - shyt just gets worse.

Brotha, out of cycle is when the real work is done. That's when you start identifying and developing your candidates who are going to push the communities agenda once they get into office. Then you push for voter turnout in the community. If you win the election then once your candidate takes office they're supposed to start pushing the mandate of the people who put him/her into office. You don't let strangers who outsiders have chosen come into the community and make a buncha bullshyt promises; you send your own candidates out with a specific agenda to push once they get into office. That's the essence of local politics, am I right?

It shouldn't be any different when it comes to the Black community and politics on the national or even global stage. But most of us hear about Black candidates for the first time when everybody else does. We don't know anything about them. Who can honestly say they really knew who Barak Obama even was until he was introduced nationally at the DNC?

It's not supposed to be that way.
